Underkill or Overkill?

Hi guys

Got my gaming rig up and running and feel its lacking something special. i got a 2600K stock clocks, 8gb 1600mhz, GTX 480 at stock undervolted to 0.98v. I have a spare RS240 rad and was planning to watercool the system,

Now, I wonder if an EK XTX360 (360x120x64mm) and a XSPC RS240 (240x120x35mm) can handle 2 GTX 480s underclocked and a 2600K at 4.4ghz. Not a 100% but i think it can handle it with a 30'C ambient.

Any suggestions will be accepted

You'd be ok, even on stock VID on those two fermi energy black holes :D

If you crank the voltage on the GPU's and furmark them though, the cpu temp will take a hit. But this is not a realistic use scenario, you'll be ok with 360+240 and that rig and I might go as far as to say you can go on lower-ish rpm fans too, if you'd like :)

After having 480's in the past. You should be relatively ok. By that I mean these are ovens so any cooling better than stock is a godsend. Id go for the RX radiator in favour of the RS - thicker. But since you have one spare, push pull should reach the same performance I'd imagine. Some good high pressure fans and you'll be laughin.

I loved my 480's but I didnt like the powerbill every quarter.

Should be able to find a pair of waterblocks for them rather cheap these days as well. I could only ever get my cards down to 60'c on load no matter how my loop was configured. They will definitely end up being as hot as your overclocked sandy at load.

Best of luck.
