Ubisoft blames background apps like Skype, MSI Afterburner, and Discord for PC Issues

Two years after release and they still haven't fixed the hard locks that plague 'The Division 2', in DX12 mode, at least.

What about... I don't know... Uplay running in the background?! Like you say, they should focus on making their games run well while TS and Discord are running as well as RGB software.

But I can agree that some RGB software is pretty demanding.

They got R6 Siege performance doing great... But it came out in 2015 on last gen consoles so is it even saying much? I guess at least they got one game working right... Out of 100+ lol

Everyone code more or less like they are the only app that runs. Few want to add the non-functional feature of being able to blend in with 10 other apps, because first it's hard to do, and secondly it costs time and money that everyone would like to save on. Ubisoft just likes to save a bit more :-)

That being said, it's obviously bad practice - but it also explains why a PC today does not feel much different that a fresh PC did 4 year ago. Most improvements in hardware simply means more sloppy code.
