Tupac - Was He Religious?

Was Tupac religious or not? I've read places that say he was not religious, but I find that hard to believe when listening to "Who Do You Believe In?" where he says he puts his fate in God.

It doesn't matter at all, but I'm not religious.

He wasn't linked to a particular religion however it seemed like he believed in God (as seen in some of his lyrics), many think he was a deist.

Well from his music, you could assume he did due to the lyrics. As for the man himself... i saw an interiview of him in his younger days (18-19) and he sure did. As he got older... im not sure

I think he believed in God strongly, but had no affinity to a particular religion. Its the same with many rappers (e.g. T-Pain's name is Faheem or something, also many of the Outlawz are Muslim, e.g. Hussein Fatal, Yaki Kadafi), a lot of them are Black Muslims, so quite unorthodox Muslims. Stemmed from the Civil Rights campaigns, Nation of Islam etc. However his parents were part of the Black Panther Party, which later on was led by a Muslim man (1999 or so).

But then he raps about Jesus and so on.

Its really open to debate, everyone around him were Black Muslims, but some of his lyrics talked about Jesus (who is actually a major Prophet in Islam).

So draw from it what you will.

He was a religious christian i think.. one of his vids shows him being crucified inplace of Jesus.

He also speaks out as if he is talking to god in some of his songs, cant give a example

Napoleon is the only one who is a muslim, whether he was a muslim whilst pac was alive i dont know

Most of the Outlawz are Muslim, yes they changed their names after dictators but they also converted.

Many of the rappers are Black Muslims. Its a very unorthodox branch of Islam, and is very similar to Christianity. Many Black Muslims wear the Cross too, its really a grey area.

But I wouldn't really call him religious bearing in mind his er 'activities'.
