With me starting the webby up and offering build and modding services now I needed some where to work from as the missus was getting abit funny about the mess I was making in the van all the time, and we all know PC boxes arnt exactly small!

Anyways I found a local place that make the sheds them self, none of this mass produced malarky, I blag some discount but it still stung me for £900 still a great price for a 10foor by 12 foot though.

This is how it arrived

I enlisted my mate Muz to give me a hand, bless him special boy!

Anyways we cracked on with trying to get a base level, I dont have your average garden and its far from flat either.

My landlord is hoofing, he told me I could have what I wanted from the site so on the bottom there is granite chippings to help drainage, then sand to help get it level, also removed about 40 paving slabs so theres planty of airflow underneath!

Base all painted up before putting down

At this point we turned to an old phrase "a blind man would be glad to see it"

Not perfect but not far off, took us 4 1/2 house to get it this level!

And now time to put it together, camera got put down and we got busy, this shed is so well made its unreal, you can hang from the roof truss no probs!

That was enough for one day so tools went down, then lots of beer went down too!

I got up early even tho my head was banging to paint the shed before the roof was started. I got some Cuprinol, didnt want to start being tight with something so important.

I started on the felting, for a 1st timer Im happy, its flat and level with no kinks ect and with the final trims on (will be clear varnished) Im happy with the way its come out.

Now today some of my tools turned up

Shed1a0003.jpg

Amogst that lot there is a 6" bench grinder, got a polishing mop kit for it too

Belt and disc sander, laser guided jig saw, step drill set, another file set, clamp set, 150mm swivel vice, Titanium coated drill bits, and a T allen bolt kit, plus some spare sanding bits, polishing bars ect ect

Theres a Bandsaw and a Pilar drill due this week, Ive also ordered the wood to build the work benches with, so this weekend Im gunna be a busy boy!

Need to get the sparky in to sort the leccy then I can get the audio and pc gear in there for some late night noisey session that wont keep her awake!

What do you guys think?

Very nice mate, though I got a question..

With the winter coming up, isn't condensation going to be a problem? Are you going to insulate the shed, or what are you going to do? :p

That is a lovely shed. I'm on a similar project at the moment and it's a lot of effort.

I'd say you definitely need to beef up security on the door. A single padlock and bolt would hold me up for about 20 seconds and I'm not a pro thief.

IInsulation is also a very good idea, at least on the roof. The old shed just had a layer of polistyren glued to the space between the rafters, it will help a lot with the cost of heating and stopping condensation.

Edit: On a related note, i just found my lockpicks. Thought I'd lost them a year ago, but they were in an old bag. I also found a pocket knife that was a present from an ex. It's a good day.

Invest in a shotgun tbh and put a picture of you brandishing it on the shed door. Just make sure you're not smiling tho :p

That's well decent, be an awesome place to go and chill with a few beers- you'll have a fridge in there before you know! Great job on the build, it looks really smart :)

Got all excited today cos the couriers came and it was meant to be my bandsaw and pillar drill, the bandsaw is awesome but the company forgot to ship the pilar drill, GRRRRRR

Had the day off work today so I started making the work benches for the shed. Me being me overkill is always the way so the framing is 4x2 and the top is 25mm mdf, should last a little while!

Top framing all together

Legs on ready for the top

Its not perfect but Im not pro chippy, and at least I did it all myself!

Still need to make a small bench in the corner for the sander Ive got and maybe some shelve down the left hand side.

Just need to get the sparky here now to get the leccy and lights done, then I can get a PC out there and the tunes sorted!

I can feel some late night gaming sessions coming on! with out getting told off about the noise!
