Trouble with the Vizio VW26L 26" HDTV monitor?

Basically, I've had this tv for a good 5-6 years. I've received it from my sister after she got married. I've run my rig on 23" and this 26" for a good stable 2 years.

Now, the issue that I'm having is that at first. When I lightly pressed the power on button, the orange light at the bottom would turn of then back on, meaning that the power was set on but then quickly turned off. To get around this I decided to hold the power button for a longer amount of time. This worked for the orange light, it remained off, indicating that the power was on. Then this is what happened. The screen remained black for about 5-10 minutes, then you power on with a totally white screen. To bypass this, I just turned of the tv and turned it back on. This allowed me to finally change channels, see my desktop and such. Now, as I woke up today, I was just gonna turn it on until.. I waited for a white screen that never came up. The orange light has been off for about 2-3 hours but no response from the screen.

I already tried replacing the power cord... I'm not sure what's wrong.

If anyone knows how to fix this... please help.

It's not worth replacing the power board or whatever it was on a 6-7 year old tv, is it?

Capacitors!

Hello, this may be 3 years too late, but I can most likely tell you what the problem was, as I just fixed mine. On the power board there are 3 capxon capacitors (crapxon) that were bad, the tops were bulging. They were 2200uf 10v caps, I ordered a new set on digikey and soldered them in.

Some things to note:

Caps have polarity, make sure they go on the right way.

The caps that were bad on mine where all together in the top right corner.

The solder is rohs compliant, which means you probly need at least a 40 watt soldering iron just to get them off, the tip needs to get to about 450 degrees.

A solder sucker to get that old solder off is ideal.
