Trouble folding on GPUs after adding second GPU

Hi all,

This morning I decided I may as well add my old GTX 260 into my PC to fold on since my PC was perfectly capable of handling a second GPU and my 260 was doing nothing.
My PC was originally folding on an i5 750 and GTX 580 perfectly fine.
I am using the v7 client and added an extra slot for the 260, but it wasn't doing anything (0% on WU and usage).
So I reinstalled the v7 client and 301 drivers, and now neither GPUs are doing anything (0% WU and usage), SMP seems to be trundling along OK.
I've also tried manually assigning the GPU indexes but that doesn't help, haven't touched cuda or opencl index since I'm not really sure what they do.
I'm basically unsure of what to try next.
Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

It's a mixed bag when mixing cards. When I tried 2 cards that weren't matched or from the same series I ended up having to completely uninstall the v7 client, make sure the folder for it was completely gone, then reinstall and it worked. I was using a 550 and a 9600GSO IIRC. Unfortunately, running the mixed cards results in horrible PPD on the 550. I was actually getting less PPD with both cards in the same machine then when I only had the one card.

Maybe its better to use the GPUtracker then?!
i can't remember scoring less PPD with mixed cards (GPU's)...

Good point. I didn't try GPUtracker. Temps were too high anyway with the cards sandwiched.

hmmblah I've tried your suggestion with no luck, same thing is happening again.
I could move back to GPU tracker but doesn't that use an outdated SMP client?

Blah is right, the 580 and 260 will not play well together and it won't make much difference what you run them in, console, V7, or tracker

OK set up a workaround for now that seems to be working, although not ideal.
Got v7 running SMP and the tracker running GPUs.

EDIT

Blah is right, the 580 and 260 will not play well together and it won't make much difference what you run them in, console, V7, or tracker

I'll see how my PPD is after about a day, TBH I'm only a PSU short of enough spare bits for the 260 to have a setup of its own.
So it may not even be in this PC for long.
