Trip channel memory on a duel channel motherboard.

In about 2 months or so i'm going to upgrade my computer with a Asus Sabertooth P67 and a 2500k thats going to be cooled by a NH-D14 so i need some low profile memory. I really want some Mushkin ram since they are supposedly very good and very cool. I live in Norway and i could only find one place that sells Mushkin ram, i got my eye on the Redline PC3-12800 3x4GB, but that is "Engineered for triple-channel architecture" does that mean that it would work bad on a dual channel motherboard? And can you use 3 memory sticks with a dual channel memory or will it only pick up sets (two and two sticks) of memory?

You will want to use them in sets of two to get dual channel mode. Those sticks would work without issue in a dual channel motherboard, but you would only want to use two of the sticks at a time.

I have switched one of my rigs from x58 to z68,and using two of the three ramsticks.Running as double-channel on the z68 whitout any problems. If you want to overclock, its recommended to use only two ramsticks, for having a stable system .
