Hi!
I'm building myself a new build. My budget is about 750 euros. Google says that's around £640.
This is what I've come up with so far:
- Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth X58
- CPU: Intel i7-950
- HDD: WD Cavier Green 1TB
- Corsair XMS3 Triple Channel 3x2GB DDR3 DDR-1333 PC3-10666 CL9
- PSU: Advance EA4G-650 650W
- Graphics: SAPPHIRE HD5770 1GB
I'll use this computer as my main everyday machine. I'm not a big gamer but I do play games. Actually I've bought GTA4 and Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam a while a go and still haven't played them because of my current computer.
I'm also a programmer and I usually run 2-3 instances of visual studio on windows 7, itunes and 3 or 4 browsers with about 5 tabs each. I'm a web developer
In my current machine I have 2GB of memory and I'm always using about 90% of it and when I try to switch between windows I often have to wait for the data to be loaded back to RAM again.
Hopefully I would be able to run 1080p HD movies with no problems on this machine and finally get the full potential of my 24" screen.
I plan to put this into my a bit older Antec case.
What to do think about my build. I "designed" it so I can upgrade it a bit in the future (an SSD, more memory, 2nd graphics card). I'm especially curious about your RAM, PSU and graphics opinions. Will PSU provide enough power?
Thanks,
Goran
