just thought i'd give you all a heads up that top gear starts tomorrow at 8pm (bbc2).

They'll finally reveal who the stig is!

'Stig barges into the studio and in an atmosphere that you could cut with a knife removes his helmet,' Clarkson said in his newspaper column.

'The director says he has never seen anything like it.

'Hardened, emotionless camera crews said the hair on the back of their neck *****led.'

Actually thinking about it, i bet there not going to reveal who the real one is, it will just be a joke or something.

Cheers for the heads up I have set a reminder on my V+ box, plus set it to record, but you can never be safe enough when it comes to not missing the start of the new series. I caught the missus deleting a couple of episodes I had recorded but not watched from the last series. She didn't reckon on BBC iPlayer though! I reckon you are right about the Stig, it would spoil it knowing who he is.

There is more than 1 stig.

There is the main show stig and there is back up stig's as well.

Theres loads of stigs , when they did the F1 renault, that was the renault test driver. But Ben Collins does most of it.

and yeah, there is probably more than one. I heard that some companies will only let their own drivers behind the wheel (not sure why), so they get dressed up as the stig.

The identity of the Stig is probably the longest running and most talked about, booze fuelled argument in the local round our way. I have seen it nearly come to blows a few times!

IMO I think they will only do that if the ratings go extremely low and something tells me that will never happen.

Ben Collins was the first Stig but when he revealed himself due to drunkeness, the fired him on the spot.

I don't think it is Michael Schumacher and it is just a publicity stunt though this would explain why Schumacher hasn't been heard of for the past years.
