Tools needed to Modify Side Panel

Hello.

I have a NZXT Phantom case, non window version. I would by a NZXT windowed side panel but i dont like the shape of the window. I want a big square window.

What tools would i need to cut out a decent square size?

And what kind of perspex would i need?

a jigsaw and a filing tool would do it tbh, a dremel would make your life much easier though. (you can see the method I used in red black redemption mod in my sig)

as for plexi, anything will do, try not to get too thin or too thick, 3mm is the sweet spot. also consider that the plexi needs to be larger than the hole in the side panel and the plexi may interfere with the locking mechanism of the door itself, so please consider that before doing any cuts.

Gotta be honest though, I don't think a square window would suit the whole dynamic look of the Phantom case.

Hate to say this but if you have to ask I can imagine you doing a very good job.

Do you have a friend/father/uncle you can go to for advise?

Hey Tom, I have a friend who owns a Car Body Shop Garage, he usually does custom dashboard work an is always using a dremal and cutting plastics and metal work. He was going to take care of the paint side of things

I think i will take the side panels over to him but i really wanted to give it a g myself. But i think it makes more sense getting it done at the garage as he will have all the correct tools, sanding and filing tools also.

Also forgot to mention this is going to be a freebie i might just help him polish up a car or something to return the favour

or you could try to make a "smaller" window to learn something yourself, and in case you fuark it up, your friend could always make it a tad "larger" and clean it up for you.

The window should have everything in view apart from the 3.5 bays and the side harrd drive bays. So should look nice.

Also at a later stage want to do what Tom did with Orca with the SSDS as i have 2 x Kingston Hyper X 3K SSDs, well i have one atm teh other is in my bro computer.

Oh shooot forgot that i cant hide the 3.5 bays and hard drive bay using the side panel as the cut has to be almost to the edge as the fan cut outs get in the way.

yeah side windows aren't as straight forward as they look, you must take some serious considerations before cutting.
