Ok so over the last month or so i've seen a steady rise in people using TBH and IMO which is all groovy if it fits but more lately last two weeks or so people have gone silly!! They seem to be saying it even if it doesn't make any sense in the sentence at all...

What is causing this??

Hmmmmmmm tbh.

tbh, imo this is not serious discussion

This thread actually reminds me of a thread a few weeks (pos months) ago when someone posted having a go about 'european people', stating that they all use tbh too much and actually offending me and dav0s at the same time.

What is wrong with acronyms or the use of them

Nothing wrong with it when it fits but just slightly irritating when people use them for using thems sake... Also if someone is using them just because everyone else seems to be.

Ahhh could just be me being a bit OCD.. (not overclocked.. the other one).

Not to be offending but I've noticed the same thing.. :p

EDIT: tbh

tbh, this is pointless, using acronims is just normal isnt it? i thought so, imo, we shouldnt stop using em, it means we can get more spamming done in less time :D

imo anyway

tbh, should be humor section really, just imo lk ;)

Probably due to the fact that using shortened versions of words in an informal context is part of the nature of human language to reach for efficiency. We all do it in every day speaking, but as written language is so prescribed it takes a forum or an informal situation to break that tightly wraught mould
