Titan X Reduced to 800 pounds in the UK

Aye, though it depends what the person wants really. If they want the best performance then like everything in life, you have to pay a lot more for it. But if you want cheap and cheerful then AMDs clearance stock is a bargain. I would not be surprised if the Titan continues to drop in the coming months as the difference between it and the 980ti do not justify the cost, plus it would make room for a dual gpu card to come in at the ~ £1400 mark.

I think the TitanX will hang around the £800 mark come what may as that is what it's predecessor did as well.

For a 2160p multi GPU setup the TX is the only option available, even 8gb is not enough for 4 cards these days.

Actually it's not nothing.. it is actually 50 980ti's;)

Not really.. devs would need to support it first and foremost.. it won't be a very common feature

If it's how the API itself goes about business then no one will have to support it because it will be how the API works at a low level.

Same goes for multi GPU support. Devs won't have to spend any extra time or money because the API will take care of it.

It would have happened years ago had it not been for the long death throes of the 360 and PS3.

It's already been said it's capable of it, just like mantle was. But devs still need to support it. That's why no Mantle title that came out worked like that because devs did not implement it. With multiple GPUs it's just easier now to get it all working better since you are less restricted in probably every aspect, or if not then at least CPU wise and better control over the GPU pipeline as a whole.

How can you say it won't be common?

Having the ability to pool GPU memory would mean you could see textures uses on a whole new level! Obviously taking into account the cost of GPU.

Regardless of whether memory bandwidth or anything like that is gonna be an issue, its something which many people talk about! If only my 2X970 pooled GPU memory etc etc

What NBD said.

Also, I remember reading that the current gen AMD cards might not support DX12.

Pretty sure they supported 12, but not the full subset, which im sure was a thing back in the DX9 days, with A,B and C subsets....might be wrong though!

Because it will take more time and therefore money to implement it correctly. Ya it would allow you to do more with more textures and etc, but then that adds costs into creating all that extra stuff for the tiny market that makes up multi users. It'll be more common after a few years and only games I could think of that would use it would be big AAA titles like BF
