Have you got 4 8GB 290X's yet Kaap?
JR
I would actually buy a Titan X to upgrade from my 780 reference - but it had to be with a water block as my whole rig is under water.
Wife says No No though....... -.-
Isnt being the fastest single card available not a good enough reason to have a single titan x?
I mean, for someone who hates sli or crossfire and doesnt want to deal with all kinds of driver issues, I mean, I had crossfire radeon 5870 at the time Skyrim released and the game kept crashing with crossfire enabled. I played 200 hours of that game at medium settings because I was only able to play with one card. I certainly never ever want to be in that situation again and have one of my cards sitting idle even if I have to pay a boat load of money that I made by doing absolute slave labour.
A gtx 970 sli might seem like its economically the better thnig to do until another skyrim like game comes along that refuses to work with multiple cards and youre stuck with trying to run a game which uses 8 gb vram with a single gtx 970 and have to play at medium settings despite having spent 750 euros on both the cards.
Lastly, once again, isnt a single card always always always the better advice?
Wait a month or two for the cut down version of the Titan X with 6gb of VRAM and save yourself about £300 if you want to go down the single card route.
I do wish that this cut down Titan x or 980ti was 8 gb instead of 6![]()
No mine are 4gb ones, I got them on day one when they launched.
They are also Asus reference which means I got to use GPU Tweak on day one and could put up to 1.412v through the cards on launch day which was nice.
I know someone who has 8gb 290Xs quadfired but he prefers the 4gb ones as he likes to do some benching.

Nope. You've only really used one old game as an example as to why you shouldn't get two cards. Its alot better now.Isnt being the fastest single card available not a good enough reason to have a single titan x?
If I was to get Titans, I'd get atleast two. Excluding the Z.
Where I live, I can get the Z cheaper than the X. What is the difference between the 2?...
Unfortunately with it's 384bit bus you can have 6gb or 12gb, I think other memory sizes are possible but if NVidia went for say 8gb it would make what they did with the 970 look quite reasonable.
I have seen a couple of games use 8gb on the Titan Xs but for a single card it would be pointless to run unless you can put up with 15fps to 20fps.![]()
Sorry, but I just have to say this:
We are proud to announce the nVidia GTX 980ti with a massive 8GB vram on a 384-bit bus!6GB+2GB slooow as ****
Honestly only read the posts up till the one posted
