timings/voltages/speed

so im looking at ram for a p67 build

i notice the RAM with tighter timings (7-8-7-24)@1.6v had higher voltages then the ram with higher timings (9-9-9-24)1.5v

my question is: is it possible to just get the cheaper 9-9-9-24 RAM and just raise the Volatge and set the timings lower or is that all dependable on if they overclock well or not

both are same ripjaws x series 2x4gb kits

also is the voltage limit still 1.65v?

you dont want to overvolt ram mate, set the proper rated voltages and timings and speed in the bios, most ram will overclock but its always the big debate whats better mhz or latency - think its worked out like this more mhz gives u more bandwidth but lower latency gives it more speed

It may, it may not, to be sure just get the 1.6v ones.

yea im just gonna get 4GB instead of 8GB i can get em cheaper with faster clocks and tighter timing...dont think i need 8 just yet
