Time for a new pc

well I have been playing world of Warcraft raiding and doing videos from fraps using Adobe CS5. Think its time to build a new PC for about £1500 with my eye-on Fractal Design Define R3 USB 3.0 Titanium Grey case. So please could you help give some id's on a games and GRAPHICS Adobe After Effects CS5.5 exe build.

Look forward to your reply

I have chosen Aria as the preferred vendor, but the prices will be similar no matter which company you choose.

CPU for image/video editing: i7 2600k - £235

What will you be mainly doing on your rig: Gaming or picture/video editing as you could save £80 by getting the 2500k.

You wan't a dedicated video card and if you're not going to be using Intel Smart Response Technology (ISRT) than an Asus P8P67, Gigabyte UD4 or an MSI equivalent would be best.

Asus P8P67 Pro - £137

Graphics Card:

Gigabyte GTX 570 SOC - £287

I am a bit biased on the above as I have the 580 version and I am super impressed with the OC, temps and cooling solution.

RAM:

Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB Kit - £40.

Power Supply:

Corsair TX650 - £71

Hard-drive (Storage)

WD Caviar Green - £108

SSD (OS + other)

Crucial M4 - £150

I have one question for you: Does the £1500 include any peripherals, software, etc?

Good list yassarikhan has put up. Dunno, but maybe you could squeeze in SB-E? maybe it will be to expencive then...

SB-E would be epic, but he would need £2000+ for such a setup

So you can tick off the PSU from that list

. You could get a 580/590 with that budget then and a better Motherboard.

The Gigabyte 580 that Tom reviewed recently could be a potential Graphics Card as he was mightily impressed by it and I have one so I can vouch for how good it is.

this is what I come up with but because I'm a noob could any one tell me if this will work

Fractal Design Define R3 Titanium Case

Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance Blue Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V

Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz Socket 1155 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor 252535

Asus P8Z68-V PRO Z68 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

Yep, it will work, but are you going to be using the Z68 chipset features like Intel Smart Response technology where you can use a small <=60GB SSD as a cache for a regular mechanical hard-drive to improve performance or the integrated graphics of the CPU via the monitor connections on the motherboard? If your answer is no to both, then a P67 motherboard would be better. However, with the Z68 board you will have some extra features for the future if you are going to keep your new rig for a while.

Great list of products from yassarikhan786. The HX1000 will be able to power the GTX590 definitely. It saves you a lot of money to have to buy a new PSU and the HX1000 will still last you a long time.

If you're going to be OC-ing in the future, it's not a good idea to fill up all the RAM slots. The onboard memory controller will be quite stressed the more RAM you physically install into the slots. A good 2x4GB kit will be more than enough for gaming and general needs.

Looks like he only needs a new cpu, MB, ram, gpu and maybe a new case? those hdd's, psu and ssd can be used further.

3930k-430£

x79 MB-200£

Ram-50£

Gigabyte Soc 580-450£

Case and cooler-200£

Estimated prize +- 1330£

You could actually get a 590 card and still be under 1500£

Nice choice of hardware. Very similar to my spec

. You will not be disappointed with the 580. Out of curiosity who are you buying from?

was going to order from scan but went with aria and now I will see if my coolermaster v8 will work with i7 until i make up my mind on air or water cooling

If you have the 1156 mount, then it's compatible with the 1155 socket as well. It's the same mounting system, so no worries.
