OMG !

I am dieing here... Cant get the HS off my Sparkle ti 4200 !!!

i got the two white brackets allready out but the HS Doesnt move a single Militmeter anyway !

I tried to work with a hair drier but even after 10 minutes heat on the HS (Which made it scolding hot :D ) it didnt move... Any Suggestions ?

BTW its the standart 4200 Cooler.

heat it up....thenlet it cool down whilst twisting it gently....if there is a way you can get cold air on it then do that. constant heating and cooling should help.

you say u have both the white things out??

yes both of them..... i will try that....

Lets see... i will do that for 5 minutes now... Hair Dryer, AC, Hair Dryer, AC :D

OMG ok third post in a row but thats because i have no idea what to do now and if i cant get that HS off my Card is worthless.

So Anybody an idea how to get the HS Off ?

Normally by this point i get annoyed and take a screwdriver to it and totally wreck the card just to justify buying a new one - but i guess you don't wanna do that :D

So the twisting did nothing at all?

hmm didnt we go through this with ffx last time...and he was too scared to go buy nail polish remover lmao

Nah last time it was my AMD 64 :D

and i still run on the notmal cooling pad :D

BTW : My cousin came by today. He has a good hand for that stuff.

Screwdriver.... Between HS and GPU and "Slightly" Pressing and the HS "Popped" off and "flew" away.

And then the shock ! You know what was oin the GPU ? GLUE ! Fuckin yellow glue (Hardnened). No it wasnt ceramics or Paste or a pad....

I cant believe it....

Ahhh btw i have the HS now off. Any suggestions for a good GF 4 TI 4200 HS ? Thanks :D

You might want to try and lap the glue off the GPU core if there is still some on there, otherwise you'll get really crap thermal transfer over to your new h/s.

talking of glue, i was fitting new ram to an aincient DAN comp that bolongs to my dad, and got quite a shock when i found every single component that is normally removeable was gluegunned in place. ram, video card, cpu hs, i mean EVERYTHING. good old dan, you just love them dotn you.

I got the cooler of and i allready have a new HS. Problem being : now the 2 Plaatic "guys" dont want to fit through the holes anymore. Thinking about buying screws that fit.
