Thinking watercooling

Right guys and girlies, I should be a cosmos 2 case and thought about going watercooling too only a preliminary setup i may not actually go with it depending on finances.

This would be my first time with watercooling as well, so I initially thought of going for the xspc rs360 kit because of toms review with Mayhems aurora nebula blue but then realised these are incompatable due to the pump being in the res. So then started looking at other options like thicker rads then realised can't go 60mm thick rads so now am looking at:

xspc EX360 rad

xspc Raystorm cpu waterblock - look so cool

xspc 5.25" single drive bay res

Laing DDC -1+ Ultra pump (MCP355) with phobya 1/4" top or the phobya DC12-400

Bitspower 1/4" Thread Barb Fitting for 1/2" im not sure how many of these i will need and the right size depending the pump (i think) lol

Masterkleer Hi-Flex 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD (11-16mm) Tubing : Clear

then 3 120mm bitfenix spectre blue fans or the pro ones

Mayhems Aurora Nebula Blue

this is what ive got from reading other posts and guides and oh yeah im just looking at cooling the cpu at the moment, not sure where i would mount the pump either as i was hoping to use res with the pump inside but i would rather have the liquid. So if anyone has any other reccomendations or tips would be a help and my budget is £250max but i would prefer the £200 mark thanks

My other options i was thinking of was just to buy the h100 or the nh d14 but that kinda seems like the boring option lol

or the xspc raystorm 750 ex360 kit from specialtech with either mayhems pastel blue or x1 blue be better option? i just really like the aurora range

Might as well go with the Raystorm 750 kit dude, depends on whether you want to go with Mayhems aurora or not though.

Personally though, because of the size of the case i'd go with a cylinder res especially if you do go with aurora to show it off more, plus a cylinder res will fill in some of the empty space of the case.

For fittings you will need two for the res, two for the pump, two for the rad and two for the CPU block. The two for the CPU block though i'd get a couple of angled fittings to make for a tidier loop.

thanks

only thing that got me into looking at wc was the aurora fluid, which is why im trying to make it so i can use it but at same time thinking its making it a bit of a hassle

The end result will be worth it though

It would be a shame to use an H100 in such a good case as the Cosmos II.

well i am pretty set on going watercooling its just i want to use the aurora fluid but then since its my first time im probably better off buying a kit and using mayhems pastel range or x1 i just havent been able to find any youtube vids people using them.

i can't help but just going woah with how the aurora nebula blue looks like lol

The only difference with the kits really is everything comes in one. If you go with buying the parts separate you just need to make sure you buy the right things that go with each other, the list you made in your first post covers everything you need tbh.

With a few slight changes this will cover what you need for aurora

xspc EX360 rad

xspc Raystorm cpu waterblock - look so cool

xspc 5.25" single drive bay res - or cylinder res - you will need to check the hight of the case to make sure you get the right length res if you do go with a cylinder

Laing DDC -1+ Ultra pump (MCP355) with XSPC Laing DDC Pump Top V3 : Acetal

Bitspower 1/4" Thread Barb Fitting for 1/2" x8 with a couple of angled barbs

Masterkleer Hi-Flex 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD (11-16mm) Tubing : Clear

then 3 120mm bitfenix spectre blue fans or the pro ones - the specters are a bit low on static pressure, you will be better off with fans with a higher static pressure the spectres will do but personally i'd look for fans with a higher static pressure.

Mayhems Aurora Nebula Blue

thanks again

what fans would you reccomend i would like blue leds in them and i kinda went for the bitfenix as i believe i might be able to hook the led up to the on off button on the cosmos and they were quiet.

res wise with a cyclinder im thinking i could somehow mount it over the second sets of gromits as only the top one will be used

Not sure about LED fans to be honest, I think the Phobya nano G's are pretty good but I have never looked at the specs for them but they are the ones Coolmiester is using in his build and they are the ones Tom used in the Shadow H20 build, you can also get them in blue as well.

Non LED fans though Scythe Gental Typhoons are regarded as some of the best you also have Akasa venoms, Akasa Apache and the BeQuiet Shadow wings PWM which are good as well. Basically you want to look for fans with the highest static pressure and CFM but with the lowest DB you can find, a higher static pressure is more important that a high CFM though but you still want the highest you can get without them being to loud.

think i'm gonna go with the xspc raystorm 750 ex360 kit from specialtech just got another question will it be able to handle cpu and gpu, i would also be adding a thick 240mm rad if needed

Don't know about the EX rads to be honest, I know they are good enough for a CPU but i'm not sure if they are good enough for a GPU and CPU loop on their own. They do perform like the RX rads which are 60mm thick but only with fans at 1500rpm+

The RX rads or other 60mm thick ones are the best to go with in my opinion because they perform well and you are able to turn your fans down a bit.

I misread that post I thought it was RAD not pump you were asking about

I'm replying to a couple of other threads on watercooling and getting them mixed up

Not sure about the pump either, i'd say yes, but I could be wrong.

From what I read he was asking both
