Thinking of upgrading

I've had my 2700k for 3 years now and made the mistake of buying Scan's custom built system. They overclocked it to 4.7Ghz at 1.42v and it has been running like that for a couple of years so think my CPU has degraded. It won't run at 4.7 at that voltage anymore. Keeps getting BSoD.

I was thinking of getting a z87 board, 4770k, 16GB of 1866mhz RAM and a AIO cooler for now. My case is a 350D so mATX is my only option.

I have come up with a list and need your thoughts on it, this won't happen for a couple of months. I am open to other suggestions.

Thank you, squinting is way better though :P

UPDATE: I will probably add an SSD too. I'll keep my 120GB for OS and get another for games, maybe a 240GB.

Looks fine to me dude, assuming you require hyper-threading.
4670k would be cheaper on the budget.
An 8gb kit of ram would be sufficient too and you could go with a sexy LP corsair red to match the Mobo (LIKE THESE)

4670k performs better at gaming once they are both clocked at 4.4GHz or above. As for this generation of MoBo's I'd go with Gigabyte > Msi > Asus. Sandybridge I'd of Said Asus.

I can't really check prices or links but if the H105 isn't much different in price, it's much better simply because of how thick the rad is. Also, I have 16GB or ram but 8 is sufficient for gaming.

I might go for that RAM option, I currently have 16GB of 1600mhz LP RAM in it at the mo, with a huge air cooler, you don't even see them.

Also right now in Scan the 2400MHz and 2133MHz kits are cheaper than 1866MHz. Out of stock on the 2400 though. I have my 2133 running 2400 anyway.

Perhaps go for a corsair H75 cpu cooler.
They are beautiful and decent enough to keep temps in check.
You'd be able to see your ram and you can change the ring in it to match your colour scheme.

The Corsair H105 is cheaper than the H100i on Scan.

I made a few changes.

CPU: I5 4670k
MB: Gigabyte GA-Z87-G1.Sniper M5
Memory: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Pro Series Silver, PC3-17066 (2133)
Cooler: Corsair H105

Total: £477.12 on Scan

Not sure whether to have 16GB or 8GB of RAM. My current system has 16GB.

Might wanna wait a bit. Intel is coming out with their Haswell refresh around the end of this month along with a new Z97 and H97 chipset. The K versions are supposed to be out in June.

I won't be upgrading until around July/August time anyway. Hopefully the deposit from the flat will cover most, if not all my debts and leaves me with minimal monthly outgoings to save for the upgrades.

I believe Devil's Canyon (codename for intel's summer release) might be z87, also does the H105 even fit the 350d? I think only in the front, not sure though.
