Thermaltake vs SilverStone

These are the same PSU with different labels on them. The only difference is prob price and warranty levels, I beleive Thermaltake has a better warranty.

So Thermaltake is the manufacturer or would SilverStone?

PS - I am using it to power a dual Xeon, 2xQuadro 6000 with 2xTesla CAD and vidual graphics PC (NOT gaming).

the ax 1200 also comes in a velvety pouch that is very pleasant its just another thing about the unit that just oozes quality

Not sure the velvety case will be much use after the PSU is in my PC.

I usually buy Corsair PSUs, just wasnt sure 1200W would be enough, given the above specs.

Well if anyone knows where I can buy all the cables (as extras) for the Corsair please let me know.

I hope to sent that set off to get sleeved and keep the original set standard - incase of RMA.

Oh - PS - which one??:
  1. Gold
  2. Platinum

THe OEM is Enhance Electronics Co. They make PSU's for Coolermaster, Silvertone, Antec and others.

Im going to have to check the Corsair has enough outputs to deal with the specs.

EVGA SR-X MB (or ASUS version)

2xQuadro 6000

2xTesla

Cheers for all your help so far guys

id say the gold would do you bud unless you want to spend the extra for the swanky monitoring software. also the guv said it would be fine and i would trust virtually everything the man says when it comes to tech but there are counless psu calculators on the web that could give you a bit more peace of mind

also im presuming each of those cards requires 2 pci power cable it may come down to you needing 2 smaller psus just so you have enough power points like in toms overkill3d vids i believe he uses 2 psus with different coloured cable to identify between which psu the power is coming from if you understand what i mean just because there are that many power cables needed so yea that also may be a thing like 2 ax850s

I would personally not get either of the above a 1200W should be plenty. I would look at the AX1200 from Corsair or the Enermax Platimax/Max Revo if you don't mind the look of the cables. All of which I would say are very reliable units and better than the 2 units you listed. Out of the Gold and Platinum units, it depends how much you want to spend but the gold unit would be perfect.

The Corsair AX power supplies are the flavor of the month. They are definatly well made, OEM is Seasonic. I own an AX 850 and have had zero issues.
