Thermaltake 'designs' at Computex 2015 look familiar

i don't think i'm missing the point; in my first comment i said it comes down to quality!

Don’t get me wrong; my stand on this subject is I don’t condone such actions,

but as someone who’s been on the receiving end of something similar;
I can dissect some of the motives more rationally today,

Chris,

Chris,

I'm not trying to change your mind but IMO i don't think the quality will be as good.

right you are, yet here we are not anywhere near the show,
discussing more about the thief's; then the person who got robbed!

they also got a rush video commentary yesterday,(more free publicity)

Chris,

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the marvellous Inwin S Frame.

And I also present Cooler Master's cheap attempt at ripping it off.

So as I maintain, this kind of crap happens all of the time. A good idea will be completely done to bits by other companies trying to cash in on that idea.

LMFAO youre clutching at straws now - thats properly funny.

We are talking about two cases you cant tell the difference between, not you trying to find two cases with a similar angle somewhere.

Gotta agree with Tom on that, Coolermasters case just looks like an updated stormtrooper case with a fullsize windowed side panel and no handle on top, Inwins looks completely different in shape and form, the only thing they have in common is they both have a full sized window.

Have to say they went to far on this. I'm not botherd that they want to sell a case that looks and have the same specs as the caselab's, but atleast make some smal changes to it. How hard can that be?
Why take shortcuts and just copy when the result is bad PR.

What is the point of buying the products when it's a copy of the original, I would rather just buy the original. I think your kinda missing the whole point of this.

Most often, designs are replicated and improved. The copy can sometimes make something identical, while at the same time addressing weakness' in the original and fixing those.

Seriously... where will they stop. Althgough im skeptical on this one since to me they are 100% identical so could be a fake to feed fuel to the fire?

Unless Swiftech supply TT with them? licensing etc.

Yay more ThermalTAKE stuff on the forums. Funny thing is though, companies they ripped off didnt seem to care enough to take action. Lets see if Karma actually exists.

Thats why im thinking the image i linked above is just Swiftech licensing the product out to TT. its too identical to be called a copy/rip off.

All companies do that openly at least.

Well either way, looks like their ripoffs/copies are selling decently for them. Probably cut a few corners here and there to save on manufacturing costs.

Yeah, dont asus do a rog version of that or no? I also don't think that one in particular is a copy, rather a licensed product. I could be wrong though.

shouldnt be a problem

Judging from the example images the TT copy of every product looked like crap compared to the original, any sensible buyer would buy the better product so it shouldn't be a problem.

Chris,

I disagree with your argument entirely, and you really aren't getting what he's saying.

This is a matter of what amounts to intellectual property.

The fashion industry has had this issue for years. To a lesser degree, so has traditional consumer electronics.

What we have here is lack of imagination going on. When a company can no longer innovate, and has to resort to outright theft, it's time for that company to die.
