Thermalright Cogage

Just read a review of this cooler on a site I've never heard of. Don't know the trust level of the site but this cooler beat out the Noctua NH-D14 by 1-2c... I didn't think it was possible! :P Anyone else got any news of this cooler?

now im confused :S, have thermalright aqquired a new name recently or have you made the mistake of thinking this is a thermalright product.

it certainly looks like a thermalright venomousX but split in two lol.

I think Cocage is meant to be Thermalright's rnage for "performance on a budget". Swear I read that somewhere. Not sure what to make of the review really. It seems conclusive, though I would like to see how it performs with an i7 rather than an i3 as I've seen stark differences in reviews of the same cooler on different sockets due to how well they can fit.

Good point runebeard.

Ghosthud1 - After reading your post I went rummaging around for the answer. What I found is I think Cogage is owned by Thermalright. This link points to a different name but is the same identical cooler. http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_p...intel_bp/product_cpu_cooler_ifx-14-intel.html

It's hard to say. There is a specific website for Cogage. And there it is called the Cogage Arrow. http://www.cogage.com/a_page/cpu_cooler/arrow/product_cpu_cooler_arrow.html

Too me it just seems like bad branding, but seeing the Cogage logo on the Thermalright website makes me believe they are either partners, or Thermalright owns them.

It appears they're the Lancool of Lian Li or to use a guitar metaphor, the Squire of Fender. Here's the only "proof" I can find that they are subsidiary company: http://www.cogage.com/a_page/about_us.html

If you look at the top profile shots, they are very slightly different in so far as the Thermalright version is marginally less angular in form.

But essentially, they can probably just be thought of the "budget" range of Thermalright, though they appear to perform well considering this label.

Well I figured TTL would love to review it and see for him self as he already called out all other manufacturers to try and beat the NH-D14. :)
