Thermal paste

Hi guys,

I've tried looking for a topic that discusses the best thermal compound but can't seem to find it.

Which one shall I go for on my 2500K & Noctua D14, not stupidly expensive.

Once I've ordered these 2 parts, I can boot my rig up (as long as nepas sends my PSU

, he hasn't been online in over a week since I sent money, I trust the guy but need PSU asap

, need a rig

).

So which one, IC Diamond or Arctic Cooling MX-4 ?

There will be hardly any difference between the two, but I think that the mx-4 is easier to apply.

I picked up some IC Diamond after seeing some good reviews. This will be the first time in 5+ years I've tried anything other than AS5.

Putting the IC in warm water apparently makes it easy to apply, apparently there will be 4c-6c drops compared to other pastes. Quite nice if you ask me, overclockers UK have 24-Carat 4.8g for £12.98 inc VAT.

I thought that paste was on par with the Arctic Silver Ceramic? I think I've had the NT-H1 before on my Q6600.

The noctua stuff comes with the NH-D14 and hinestly for Sb you don't need some über TIM

i am a IC user/abuser

. What is the consistency like. Is it "liquidy" or is it like artic silver 5 or does it depend on how much you warm it up?

i didnt need to warm mine up. the more you play with it, the more pliable it gets

I use MX-4. I couldn't find anything other than MX-4, AS5 and Noctua paste here in Australia, there were a few other paste but nothing that rated as good as these.

Noctua NT-H1 is a really good thermal compound. It doesn't need any sit-in time. I actually prefer it now over the AC-MX4.
