72c is the max temp you should be hitting, and you are aleady very close, i would call that maxed...

Nah - max for Ivy is 105 according to Intel.
Not saying you should go near that at all - but below that it's more subjective as to what temps the user is comfortable with.

I'm happy with mine to max at 85ish.
But on my chip, I have to increase voltage by a lot to get from 4.5-4.6ghz, so it isn't really worth the extra 15 degrees for me for a mere 100mhz gain.

But as said, every chip is different. If you can push 4.6ghz without going above 85ish, then I'd be happy with that - I wouldn't say it's ever going to do any harm at that.

What volts are you using for 4.5ghz btw?

i think i got 1.296 to 1.320
as i don't have gpu yet i'm overclocking just to see what i can get, also i'm very new to overclocking :P

Try with manual rather that offset.
I needed almost 0.05v more on offset than I did on manual in order to keep stability.

If you can bring that down, you should be able to bring down your temps a fair bit.

Can you also list your specs please

ok i'll give it a try

Often if you turn off Speedstep and any turbos but leave on C1E you can get the best of both performance and energy saving at the same time :D
