) I am all sure we have heard that Tom may be getting a 3x Monitor supporting Nvidia card, Hmmmm according to strawbs, it is not the 550TI, and Tom did say it is not the 590, SOOOOO I am pretty sure we know what it is going to be

I also do believe we all remember how mental he became back when it was announced to be with the 4-series, but then it was held back for the 5-series Nvidia gpu's. My question is, what do "YOU" all the little forum members think about this card?

I think that this card will be mental, and that it will blow everything that out right now out of the water, BUT I since i have the 580 matrix, (and the mars II seems to have a veryyy similar cooling solution, but with twice the heat) this card is gonna be loud, i mean really LOUD because my matrix is only quiet at 20% fan speed, and as the fans go up you can start hearing them, and if you manually try to set them between 80-100% (which you really should need) your room will rumble

anyways what i am trying to get at is that Tom really likes quiet cards, and maybe for him since he said that he won't game on that rig, it might be ok, but if he starts stressing that card i don't think he will be able to live with it.

Anyways if i had the money i would REALLY want that card, even if it was like a tornado, just look at it, ITS AWESOME

(off topic, but i think that card is gonna bend after a while, it must weight a ton, my matrix is even slanting a little but the mars II is going to be BIGGER :S )

p.s =O nvm what i said as the beginning, Tom always liked a white and blue rig, and now he has changed it up for a black and rig shinobi and "stealth" theme, maybe to match the mars II? i'm slow

That thing is going to blow the cooler off your CPU, its going to be that noisy/powerful haha

Actually one thing I always wondered is how the Twin Frozr cooler would stack up to the 590
 
Just read a review on mars2.They just used an i7-920 @ 3.8ghz.Why not use the best cpu, for the best gpu made ever.An i7-990x @ 4.6ghz or i7-2600k @ 4.8ghz

The thing about this card is its nearly 50% dearer than a GTX590 with only a 22% performance difference the sums dont make it worth the $1700Au that they want for it and you can get 2 gtx 580 lightnings cheaper

even then it's not worth it. $1700 22% performance increase over a 590. the Mars 2 is clocked at 782/1564/1002 which would roughly be 7%-10% faster than dual 580s. you can get dual GTX580s for $860 (no tax). so in order for that $1700 price to be worth it (mathematically) the mars ii would have to be roughly 50% faster than dual 580s, and its only 7%-10% faster. So the Mars ii should only be worth (mathematically) $946. So the extra $700 is paying for the name and you could argue that maybe $100 of that is paying for performance features.

It's basically a 590 on steroids. It'll have better power circuitry so should be more overclockable if the HSF can cope!
