The Lian Li G70*

The new G70 by Lian Li is an awesome case - let me be the first to say that. They have used the best bits from the PC70/71 in my opinion, and merged them with new upgrades - you now have 120mm fans front and rear, a side panel exhaust for the VGA, and two psu mounts (top and bottom). They have redesigned the front panel, and curved the aluminium allowing air vents to feed the 120mm intake. They are now also using an electronic pcb for the power/reset switch so you dont have to press the buttons so hard, but the tacky plastic buttons still exist. This is a minor point but it does detract slightly. The fittings use the same stlye thumbscrews as before, and it feels typically Lian Li - it is very well put together and finished.

On to some piccies, firstly the originals before the mods took place.

Notice the USB/Firewire/Speaker ports in the top panel this time round. Quite a nice improvement. Also note the swanky new Lian Li badge.

And on to the modifications, in typical EP-UK style..

Here's a pic of the case with the Aqua Evo rad cut in the top panel, and the Aquaero installed.

Notice the powder baked sister sitting pretty :)

Some other Copper pics to drool over :D

That's the G70 in showroom condition, with Evo 360 mounted and installed, along with the Aqua Grill.

This pic shows the final effect - the glossy black finish is really awesome, and complements the metallic copper perfectly.

Just to add, these cases/mods will be added to the site shortly. The G70 will be available to buy, in silver or black, from the end of April.

Phil,of all the wonderful things you create, this is imo,the most stunning yet.Colours are great, excellent case and 1st class finish. If i can create a matching front for my prom,i may well want 1 of those. What are the dimensions (without front panel) please ?

Yea, I fell in love with these cases the second I saw one.

Would a Mach evap head be able to reach the CPU due to the PSU space in the bottom of the case?

I`m with Thick.. if a matching Mach front can be done, I may spend money on the appearance of my rig...for once :)

Yep! Dont forget you dont have to use the power supply cage at the bottom of the case, you can always mount one in the top - and use a dual rad for the rest of the kit if you want to watercool. That's not to say the capillary tubing wont fit if you use a psu in the bottom, I'm pretty sure we can modify it. There's plenty of opportunity to do all sorts of things with this case that's another reason why I like it. It's very flexible.

I was thinking that because the mobo is higher up (3"-ish?) the evap head wont reach? or is it just do-able if the evap neck is fully straightened?

:)

Pardon me for asking an obvious question, but why would the PSU position cause a problem? Surely the motherboard mounting is the key issue?

That case does look very nice though - any plans for the PCS-80?

The psu wires may interfere with the capillary tubing - and reference the S80 I'm definitely not going to anodise one, it's not geared up for it. I guess you could powder coat one if you really wanted to, but it looks like a lot of work.

Very nice case indeed and yet another superb mod from the master ;) Looks lovely Phil as always and the powder coated internals definetaley shows off the copper better! My kinda case :) lol... Yet again Lian Li are at the top of tye chain in case design:)

All I can say is WOW!!!! Pictures don't do it any justice, the finish interior and exterior has to be seen to believe it, I have to admit i was a little dubious spending that amount of money on a case, but I think its well worth it, Nice One Phil, another happy customer hear!!!!!!!!! :D
