The ILML thread. Awesome..

Dear lord !

I hadn't had any time to game on my new rig before I had to leave. Been sorting out mine (and my mother's) wills to make sure my ex can't touch a bloody thing.

Any way, got back earlier. After sorting out the microwave and so on I decided to do some gaming. Figured for a laugh I would load up Just Cause 3. Now note, on two rigs (OC 5820k and Titan XM and 8 core Ivy & Fury X) this game stuttered like a pig. On both rigs.

Just loaded it up and I've never seen anything like it. Just smooth. No FPS dips no matter how many explosions, no stutter when driving (which would always happen).

I think that may have been more to do with the GPU side rather than CPU, I played JC3 on a 5930K, Basically a 5820K but with more lanes, And 1 x 1080 Ti, No stutter, FPS dips etc....

Yeah it's deffo the GPU :D Hadn't really tried it out yet.

I benched Dirt Rally later in the evening ultra settings 1440p. Got a minimum of 75 FPS, average of 110 and a max of around 130 IIRC. GPU is nuts :)

<fps_race av_fps_ms="11.200257" max_fps_ms="7.993951" min_fps_ms="13.482543" av_fps="89.283661" max_fps="125.094589" min_fps="74.169983"/>

That's what I got. Was very impressed, given it's a 70hz monitor :)

So my new TV arrived today seems very nice so far, took some real faffing about to get the soundbar connected as it still had the old TV's info but once it was reset all good to go and the new remote that comes with it controls everything including my IQ3 so right happy about that :)

Nothing like a good TV :D

Found out the other day that my mother's smart TV can control Amazon and Netflix with the standard remote. Awesome, saves hunting for the tiny Amazon remote which is falling apart and creaks when you use it lol.

Played some games last night. FO4 was amazingly smooth all cranked up and maxed out (even the weapons, which look amazing !). Had a load of teething issues though. When I was launching games in Steam nothing was happening. It would say "Game running" for about three seconds, then go back to "Play". Spent a few hours playing around with FO4. Deleted it, reintalled all 100gb of it still not working. Went to the folder and launched it without Steam, gave me a X3D error. Deleted the files it was moaning about, rebooted, downloaded DX web set up let it replace bingo !

Same sort of issue with Dirt Rally, it was a D3D compiler error. I think they were corrupted by my Oculus when I had those issues. But fixed, none the less, and a very happy alien :)

It's the 2017 9000 series curved and the blacks are much deeper on this one than the 2014/15 it replaces although it's not as good as the QLED it's pretty damn good nontheless

Having some real wins on the warranty front lately Ex!

Would love a 9 series - I prefer the flat over curved personally. Move into my new place in Jan so I'm thinking a 65" would make a lovely housewarming present to myself.

Yes I have although they replaced a 9000 with a 9000 but I really wasn't expecting a 2017 model I thought I'd be getting a refurb even the 2017 but it was a brand spanker in the box so real chuffed with it

Once you go 65" you never go back.

The new OLED's from LG look fafing amazing but so do the Sammy QLED it's a real toss up between them but they are expensive whereas the 9000 is a bit cheaper and a 65 of one of them will be real nice

Hmm, could be a bit of a backfire /karma.

Last night around 10:30 PM I was happily chatting to my chum about his holiday in Ohio (family get together) when the internet cut off. I looked at the router, red light. Tried to reconnect, but it was telling me auth fail. So basically the internet has either been cut off, or, she's had the details on the router changed out of spite. Phone still works, cut off date for both was 8th August. However, she's obviously been thinking of ways to make my life hard.

So I get up this morning hoping it would be working but nope. Turned on Data on my Three PAYG phone and found out it's 1p per mb. Ridiculous, I won't bother tethering to that !

Any way, my last hope was to pull the wire and then use BTFON. Quick lowdown, BTFON is like a hot spot provided by BT. You can get on the net for something like £4 a day, £20 for a week or £39 for a month. Basically it shares some one else's bandwidth. So I am sitting here wondering if I should pay for it, then I notice above it says "Sign in with your BT login". And then I realise hey, I signed up for BT last week and created a login.

Entered the login, here I am :D apparently it's completely free for BT customers. Even better it means that no matter how long it takes BT to come around and sort the phone out I will have internet. Talk about a weight off my mind !!

Life update. I finally got through to the top manager at BT. She explained to me that the rep who had rushed into selling me "a switch over" did not realise that my ISP had already put a cease on the line. Apparently Plusnet own that line and BT will not pay them to release it, so they wanted £130 to fit a new one. Plus £34.99 connection charge for the internet plus £43 for the first month. *Opens calculator* £207.99. Now my ex obviously knew this, and that is why instead of letting me switch it into my name she instead had it cut off.

Any way, BT apologised for the mistake. They can not connect me on the 8th of August now, because of this new line. My new connection date is 18th August. However, she has charged me £9.99 for the full connection, then obviously my £43 PM sub. Which is amazing. I've saved over £155 !

I then went back to the bank to open a second account and man alive, the woman who signed me up for it was so beautiful and smelt so nice I couldn't even look at her. You know? one of those women who is so beautiful you feel downright ugly. She was awesome, and I now have my second account for stashing rent and bill money in so I know where I am at and what I can spend out of the other account.

So yeah, overall a very good day. My ex thinks I am sitting here stewing right now with no internet, but she doesn't realise I am on a 58mb Fibre hotspot instead of the 45mb connection I was on before.

lmao.

"The best revenge is living well." :D

Aye man. I just had the most amazing Barnsley Chops with cheese and onion mash and sugar snap peas with mini corns. Incredible :D

I have been doing my shopping at Waitrose since she left (posh gaff very expensive) but I was alarmed at how cheap I am to maintain. I mean we are talking a meagre £35 a week for top end food. You gotta cook it all yourself, but hey, can't beat fresh.

Kicks the crap out of the ready meals she fed me for the past three years !!

Yeah man, today was a good day. I've been really down for the past three days and when the net went off last night it nearly pushed me over the edge. I need the net, I can't even get food without it :(

Biyatch proper knows it too. Just spite man, I can't do spite.. I told her that when we got together. My ex was a very spiteful creature (still got the scars on my face to prove it) never believed this one would be this spiteful.

Woohoo Riff is fixed !

Needs a bloody good clean though, will do that tomorrow :D
