The ILML thread. Awesome..

A few weeks ago I was ready for a mammoth threadripper build. I knew it would probably be my last as my hands can't handle fine movements any more. Arthritis is not pleasant. Just before I bought the cpu the mrs banged up the family car so the build was canned. These things happen. I ended up building a ryzen build which is great. Being stuck in bed ill for long periods of time means my desktop didn't get used as much as soon would like. The mrs came home today with two pieces of news the damages was going to cost a lot less than we expected. Phew. For the second piece of news she sat me down, at which point I was panicking, and said she had bought me a laptop. She didn't get the response that she expected I think.. The mrs buying a laptop was almost a scary idea. Then she told me she had gone on the alienware site because it had 12% off and passed me the spec sheet

7820k
Gtx 1080
512nvme
16gb ram
1tb hdd
1440p 120hz panel
Alienware 17!!!

I thought she had been spending the past few weeks playing on the Internet.. No she was researching laptops!! Epic. I definitely got it right with the second wife

Drool worthy specs for sure! Sorry to hear about your health problems, but at least you'll have that to keep you company in bed ;). Be sure to post up pics when you get it.

That's awesome that your Mrs has done that for you.

I recently started seeing one of my ex's, we are both abit more grown up now and she surprised me the other night when she said she plays games on a pc and she showed me her pc and it aint not slouch.

She has a custom pc from Scan, and plays COD, Battlefield, CS Go, Rainbow Six Siege etc.

Guess if things get serious I won't need to justify my pc spending because she will understand it.

So Excal is a very happy boy today I had a surprise delivery of my Asus Crosshair VI and memory and am currently typing on my new Ryzen system, I wasn't expecting the stuff to arrive till next week but my etailer said they wanted to surprise me.
I'm so happy with this board as I made a boo boo and set my ram speed before updating the bios like a total noob and had an 0d error so read the manual saw CMOS reset button OMFG that thing is AMAZING it reset so I manually updated the bios then hit dhocp1 and boom instant goodness so now all I have to do is reformat and I'm away.
So chuffed ATM !! :D

Sweeet :D

I did some small jobs for the bike build last night. I dunno, my mood must be lifting because when the wheels arrived I really should have been a bit bummed. Let me explain.. The wheels I got are late 90s Alex Y22. They are 48 spoke (the originals were 36) but they are double walled deep sidewall wheels. Why does this make me so happy? I always wanted a set when I rode in the 90s. But it was quite dear to buy them then. So yeah, £35 and I finally have something I really wanted before :)

Which has really put me in a much better mood about this bike. Glad you got your rig sorted out though mate that's awesome too :)

Just extended my mobile data plan for another 2 years. I used to pay €10,50 for 1GB of data and 240 minutes of phone calls. Starting December 1st, I'll be paying €10 for 4GB and 500 minutes. Made my day.

My 32" Samsung 4K Quantum Dot VA monitor arrived a few hours ago, Elite Dangerous now is a whole other animal, Performance with Vega64 is brilliant, Never dips below 60FPS but the detail, Holy hell, Bleeding gorge !!!!

Loving it ^_^

4k in VR must be bliss especially if you are still getting high FPS. If only I had the money for that^_^

News Alert Dice got a monitor that works properly lol :p

Aye it makes a change :D hahaha.

It's awesome being back to being manic/happy. Unfortunately I let a lot of things slip whilst extremely depressed and pretty much had one day to get it all done. So yesterday it was -

Get up. Make coffee.
Clean kitchen
Clean toilet/sink/bath
Run hoover
Build a bike
De-rubbish the entire flat and hack up two enormous cardboard boxes into small chunks to fit in black sack (no bins, no recycling etc here because we are on the beach)
Cook dinner for two days (so I could free myself up today to wait for parcels etc)
Have a bath
Put rubbish out
Do washing up
Do a wash/hang all up after and put clothes away.

I was at it from 8am until 9:30 PM until I went bed, but man it felt good after :D

Today I am going to have a rest. Absolutely cream crackered lol. Might do some work on the bike later. Oh yeah, talking of which? It's Christmas 1983 in my flat :D

Just have to do the brake dialling, then paint the pedal traps etc. Not much more to go though, will deffo be done in time for Xmas :D

 I thought NL would be further ahead.
I pay 17€ for 20 hours and 22 GB data.
The hours can be used within the EU, and 6 GB of data within other EU countries.

Aye, it's still a pretty high price, but 4GB of data is more than enough for me. I could go elsewhere and pay €25/month for unlimited calls and data (also with 6GB within EU countries), but I really don't need it so it doesn't make sense for me to pay that much. 1GB was definitely not enough for me, but I think even 2GB should be fine. I don't make phone calls that often either, so what I have now is perfectly fine with me.

I've got £15.32 of the £20 credit I put on my phone.

Last January :D

Everywhere I go has free WIFI and I only phone taxis with it.
