The GTX 1080 Founders Edition will cost a minimum of 619.99 in the UK

I would love to know who in nvidias marketing department came up with the idea for the founders edition.
"Lets change the name of a reference card to founders and make them pay more for it."
I am going to wait now and see if EVGA release their cards on reference PCBs like they did with the 980ti models. I was excited when nvidia launched the 1080 im now thinking of waiting for big pascal after seeing the founders price

I'm now looking at polaris and seeing what AMD have to offer

I'm waiting for Tom to release the review  Only then will I have a rock solid idea of what the hell is happening.

As it stands AMD look to be the manufacturer everyone is turning too for a ray of light and salvation..

No doubt their new offerings will be better priced I just hope they have something that has legs which will force NVIDIA to price cut. Waiting is all we have right now and I'd be damned if I were to rush out and drop £620 on a card right now.

Well nvidia have done it again. Come on AMD drop something great at a really good price and I will jump ship in a heatbeat

Provided that the single 8pin holds back the true overclocking potential is valid, there is no reason to pay extra for the "founders" edition.

I'm watching a pair of 980ti classy's at the moment that are combined currently well under the price of the 1080

Not sure how much truth is in that claim, but from what we have seen so far the only limiting factor is the throttling that occurs when it hits the thermal ceiling. Most reviewers simply create a new fan curve and it overclocks like a dream.

Scan have updated their web page too. All founders versions are 619. I need a couple of new cards but I am not paying 619 for reference cards to take the reference coolers off. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to wait too long for partners cards

I told y'all they jacked up the prices. US got the least price hike but still nearly $100 increase here.. Now you know what it is for you guys. Just imagine Aus... They will be screwed for sure

NO word yet but I am not holding my breath.

980s have dropped to $650 AUD for the strix (about $220 less than launch) and the Ti's are about 100 less than launch prices at $950.

The 1080 will come in around $900 if it's a straight exchange rate but I'd expect them to be over a $1050 easy.

Luckily I'm in no need of an upgrade for a while yet.

ASUS have thier GTX 1080 listed at a whopping £649.99 well I tell you what ASUS you can stick that card where sun don't shine you greedy #####!!!!!!

All i say is that you should have seen this coming cause every new gen card since the 600/700 i think series card the prices have been going up i'm not shocked bye the price.

That really is waaaay too much, but give it time, and hope AMD has something competitive waiting in the wings.

With a bit of luck it'll be like the GTX 280 after the release of the HD 4870 all over again. :p ;)

Given how technology rapidly drops in price..give it 5/6 months and something will have forced it to lower its price down.

If I was going to spend that kind of crazy money, I'd want it to be liquid cooled as well..
