The GTX 1080 Founders Edition will cost a minimum of 619.99 in the UK

You can't really blame Nvidia, they put the prices up each time and people still buy the cards, all it is now is finding hat sweet spot where the price doesn't effect the number sold

I think its disgrace but Nvidia is playing on fan boys that are willing to pay What Ever It Takes.... I remember I payed 650 Euros for the 780 DCUII version as soon as it came out - but that was Asus top cooler at the time so no reference..

If rumors are true then I have heard that the 1080ti would be around 1000 euros. Hope AMD does the right choice here.

Wait and see what happens to the market when AMD releases their offerings later in the year. From what I have made out they are not aiming at the highest tier and are going to actively target the mainstream. I expect their pricing to be a lot cheaper for a number of reasons.
Taking the market share on consoles, I don't think nvidia are providing chips for any of the console (xbox, ps, nintendo)
Targeting the mainstream pc gamer (budget and midrange pricing)

Excuse me, but that's not 599$. It's well over 900$

UK prices have always been well above US prices. Europeans are far more f***ed, if the price increase is the same that's roughly 800€, makes me worry about 1070 prices, could be in the 500€ region.
I don't know who this is targeted at, the enthusiasts won't pay a 100$ premium to get a ref cooler and the average joe won't pay 600$ for a GPU, the even higher EU prices don't help either. I don't even think this looks particularly good, i liked the original Titan cooler because it was very clean, this is just a mess. This is probably a case of nvidia overplaying their hand, the last two generations they got away with insane release prices because AMD was in shambles.
Oh well, at least it seems like AMD can finally release alongside nvidia again, so the prices can't stay that high for long. If they release in June and can offer 1070 performance for considerably less money and get the power consumption under control i might forget my 7950 troubles.

Kitguru are suggesting that the partner cards will cost in the region of £650 - 700. Insane.
I think this highlights the problem that there is no competition for Nvidia at the enthusiast end of the market. Im really beginning to miss the days where AMD and Nvidia were constantly outdoing each other.

Yep that's what I'm expecting, I honestly cannot see anyone selling this card for less than £620 the secondary price will never see the light of day.

I'm getting annoyed with everyone saying its a 980ti replacement and not a 980, I remember the 980 being released and beating the 780ti and it cost £430.

I never expected the card to be the same price as the 980 launch price I was expecting the £500 price mark ish but I never in a billion years expect a price hike of £200

It's nice to see the reference design refreshed as it separates it from the previous series. It's a bit more hard edged than the previous and I'm sure the market will get to like it, or used it at least. I'm just annoyed that my chromed bit won't fit the new reference :(.

The price - too much. The 1080 costs more than the 980Ti's when it was new and to surpass 980Ti SLI I'd need two 1080's which would be silly when we know something better will come out later.

It makes me concerned about the price of the 1080Ti when it comes. It may even make me skip this buying a pair of new flagship Ti rodeo I've been on since the 780Ti.

I have no faith in AMD improving the situation. Not that I think their new card will be a poor contender, I just think AMD will follow the same business model and price them the same to get the money in rather than market share. They did it with the Fury and they'll do it with the Anger. Then AMD can release the Flounders Edition.

I don't know AMD might surprise us, they are saying polaris will be 980ti performance at 300USD that's very competitive and I think AMD will be looking at this and seeing the opportunity to steal sales from Nvidia by releasing a card that is comparable to the 1080 at a fraction of the cost just think all they need to do is price it at £550 and everyonbe would flock to it and save £100

Hopefully you're right Steverebo, we need competition in this market to get the price of graphic cards back down to "sensible" levels.

I don't understand why people are holding out hope for AMD/Nvidia there a company people they need to make money not lose money.

Price wise i can only see AMD coming out with a GPU that is around the same price as Nvidia not cheaper, Well it maybe cheaper but i can't see it being that much cheaper, if i was going to put a price on it i would say about $20.00 cheaper.

For 20$ less i won't buy an AMD equivalent, not with that power consumption. AMD was always the price/performance brand, maybe a little bit tacky at times but considerably cheaper than nvidia and intel, i don't see them changing that now. That doesn't make them less capable of making money either, quantity can generate just as much, if not even more revenue than quality.

Well we dont know AMDs performance, power useage etc for sure yet. Never know AMDs perf/watt might even rivial nVidias.

Well i would pay the extra $20 for the better product if that makes me a fanboy so be it lol

I prefer Nvidia over AMD i think Nvidia has the better GPU's, Nvidia runs better in my setup than AMD.

I know people who buy Nvidia GPU over AMD cause they have said the same Nvidia runs better for them but they use AMD CPU's.

Also most people will pay the extra money for the Nvidia GPU cause people think Nvidia is better and generally there right, If you go on benchmarks make bye 3rd parties Nvidia does perform better and that's the reason why people buy Nvidia.
