Temps on a XFX 6870 BE

Hi, Ive recently just got a new pc and it has an XFX 6870 Black Edition installed, it tends to idle at around 40c and when playing games reaches upto 70, ive seen it at 75 sometimes, Is this ok? Im not sure if this is too hot or not. Ive played a game solid for an hour and its not reached over 80c yet. Im just new to all this pc stuff and not sure on temps ect, Also its been overclocked too.

it idles at 300mhz/300mhz and @ 0.95v

The fans RPM also increases when it gets hot, highest ive seen i think is 1800rpm

all perfectly normal and designed to work that way. The fans are designed to throttle up when the card gets hot to help it cool better. temps are well within the operational range so ur gtg

Good temps for hd6870.XFX is known for good stock cooling solution.

Those temps are fine. i have the same card and those temps you mentioned are the same as mine. Just remember to run the fan a 35/40% on hot days. I have been playing BFBC2 with the fan on low and hit 110°C

yea mines watercooled. But your temps are fine. The 6xxx series are like the Nvidia 4xx series except the 6xxx can handle the heat. Your threshold is in the 90s.

they seem fine to me dude i have a msi 6870 hawk with the twin frozer 3 cooler it idles at around 36oc and highest it has been up to is 67oc and thats with a core of 1ghz and ram at 4.6ghz so i think your temps are about right
