Too many people keep posting in the 'Technology News' section.

If possible we should give the power of locking threads to the news team, so they can lock every news item

i thought jim was gonna disallow people the ability to post there. obviously he hasnt got round to it yet.

I have only prevented people from creating new threads in the News area - not replying to them.

I did this to give regular members the ability to discuss the news article. If you don't think this is a good idea, i can remove it?

Also, the news team might want to check and see if they can close posts, i cant remember if i gave them that permission. They do have delete post/thread privelages tho....

tbh i think i agree, people should be allowed to discuss.....but only ON TOPIC. no out of conotrol threads about something else. the news team can modreate those.

Cool. So we'll leave it up to the news team to moderate posts in that area, and only if things get out of hand or none of the news team are around will the moderators interveine (sp?)

Yeah only on-topic posts in the area or we'll clean it up

I think that the threads should definately stay open for discussion, it will be hard for us to keep on topic as this forum seems to be the king of going off on wild tangents.... But with some good moderation we should be able to keep the threads in line
