Holy thread revival batman.

Here is my latest tattoo. Its not finished yet, this was after the first session. Second session is in a months time. Anyway its of a phoenix and the second session will have a dragon on the left blowing fire which will be where the phoenix will fly out of.

This tattoo has a lot of personal meaning behind it and I cannot wait to have it finished.

Can't wait to get my next piece. Got the design finished but I'm a bit anxious about posting it on the internet before I get it done, so I'll just save up and post when I have it! It is also bird-related ;)
 
Its a long story but here is the short version.

For the last few years I have been suffering with depression. There has been a number of shit things happened in my life over the last few years. My aunt passed away the day before my birthday in 2011, My parents seperated and I was forced to move out of home. In 2012 my dad then passed away the day before my birthday before we could sort things out. Then just before xmas 2012 I was in a car accident which knocked me all over the place. I have also struggled with college understandably so with all this and I have been forced to repeat second year of my course a few times as I couldn't attend classes.

After the car accident I went down into my lowest point ever and was on the verge of committing suicide. Something kicked in though, I don't know what but it stopped me. I have since then went and got help from my family and friends, doctors and psychologists. I have spent the last 12 months battling my issues and getting my life back together and I can now say for the first time in years I am happy and have a positive future in my life. The tattoo is broken into two parts. The dragon represents the old me. The destructive part of my life, which is the mythology behind european dragons. The phoenix represents the new me, as in I have been reborn if ya get me. The fire represents the transition over the last year from one part of me to the other. The tattoo as a whole is to remind me of this journey in my life and the hard work it has taken to get to where I am now. It also is a reminder never to give up and to push on no matter how bad things get because with hard work things will get better again.

Thats the short version lol.

I have a few but it's rather difficult taking shots of your own, I also have a dragon on my back but can't get a clear shot of it, will update later when our lass gets back.

Third session is booked for the start of March where I am hoping to add the wings and a bit more detail into the fire.

It has already taken 11 hours and I suspect there will be at least another 2 4 hour sessions before its done. Could be 20 hours work when done.

That looks pretty impressive already! Surely that's an expensive piece?

I'm going back in March as well. New place, new tat. Own design so I won't post it until I have it (always a bit anxious). What date are you going? :)
 
He is doing a pretty good deal for me. It has only cost me 600 euro so far. Should cost more considering the amount of work gone into it.

My appointment is the 4th I think so just over 2 weeks away.

- double post but it's been nearly a month -

New ink is all done! Had to alter the design a little as my arms are tiny (yay for being underweight -.-). Came to the shop, spent one and a half hour discussing the design, drew a new one on the spot and got tattood for 2 hours.

Only had to pay €160,- and I have no idea why cause they're generally not a cheap shop :p Ohwell, saved money!

Nice Feronix! I like the feathers/apache kinda thing. Some of my mates have got loads of tats, i've never had any done. I think they are cool and perfectly fine with them (as some people can be quite against them), i just never really imagined having one ;)
 
I might get a tat when im old enough, probably my mums birthdate and deathdate on my wrist. When i have the money i will get some piece of artwork on me but i will need it to be meaningful.
