Task Manager Gone ?

So I went to access the task manager a few minutes ago and this message comes up, Never seen this happen before, Any insight would be appreciated -

What if you right click > Run as admin?

I assume you've tried a reboot?

Mmm so right clicking on the task bar, don't work? What are your admin settings set to? Looks like your not "qualified" enough to access it.

Search C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\System Tools for the Task Manager file. If its not there, you might have a little problem

try running the comand line windows as administrator(right click)

1. Type regedit in RUN dialog box or Start Menu Search box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.

2. Now go to following keys one by one:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
HKEY_USERS\.default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

and look for a DWORD value "DisableTaskMgr" in right-side pane. If you find it, delete it.

Nope to all of the above, Guess a fresh install is in order

Run regedit.exe, go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\taskmgr.exe

and delete the string Debugger.

Now you should be able to run Taskmgr again.

Found what it was, It was a theme program that changes a few files, Changed the wrong one apparently, Did sfc /scannow and it's back to normal ^_^

Very sure, I used the same theme program again and it gave the same result, Just a badly written program.

Anyway, before you try to go with re-installing windows you can try a system restore or a repair...
