On the 9th December 2005 between 11am-2pm (GMT) there is a high chance of downtime across the SysXtreme network and all related sites.

Due to a hard disk failure in the SysXtreme server that deals with our game servers/radio station/e-mail service, the server will need to be taken down between these times for maintainance.

All e-mail with be stored on our US mailserver until the UK one is running again.

I am also taking this opportunity to install our new spanky SX server, which will be used primarily for games, but will also serve the SysXtreme.Com website and all other SX related sites.

Hopefully downtime of SysXtreme.Com will be minimal, but the site will be closed from 7am (GMT) 9th December 2005 until the new server has been put in place. This is to prevent people from posting threads that will not be saved on the database backup that i perform at this time.

Its a big job so the work may take longer then expected, however i'll ensure that the notice placed on SysXtreme.Com is kept updated so you know whats happening :)

You should make this an announcement and possibly shoot an SX wide email to all members letting them know...

Can't wait for everything to be in place, wish I could be there to check it all out :D muahaha. Our baby is getting installed...

And damnit don't forget to plug in all available NIC's so I can get some no-lag gaming action goin' on! :worship: :worship: :worship:

even i am looking forward to the new server going in! CS:S will never of played so well!!

theres just one bit iam not to sure on, Are you moving this site onto the new server?

iam guessing if you do the traffic aswell as the game servers you hosting is going to cripple the server or most likley its connection.

We shouldn't have a bandwidth bottleneck at all, nix picked up our gigabit ethernet NIC and will be running full throttle on the network which should be above 200mbps both directions.

I don't have any bandwidth worries :)
