Tbh the only reason i scouped this off OC is down to the way swiftes speaks almost on a personal level? its almost like he hates the enforcers more than the rules! rules are rules at the end of the day, when there not followed you feel the consiquences.

He's just a keyboard warrior what takes the internets too seriously :D

Well of course.

I have always found people who complain about internet forums ON an internet forum hilarious. Obviously they are adhering to the rules on the forum they are posting it on and complaining about the rules on another.. hahahaha ! :D

C-C-C-Combo breaker, if you try to have a look in the fs&w area if i remember right there will be a page come up telling you how to get access and the rules, just need to give the number on that page a ring and give the info it says it needs, if the admins deem you acceptable you should have access in a 72 Hours or so.

Im pretty sure theres nothing wrong with giving stuff away but if all your asking is postage it would still have to go through a FS&W thread

I didn't mention postage. If I charged postage it wouldn't be free would it?

It's not worth taking postage any way. Anything less than a fiver in Paypal can't be withdrawn. Or was it £6?

There is a reason for these rules and it's one that I completely agree with.

While they can be a massive pain in the arse, it is for the benefit of everyone here.

I have acutally been mugged off for £65 on these forums from some little tosser who before these tighter rules came in started offering parts up at low prices. He took my money never to be seen again and it was very very tough to try and track him down. Basically I lost £65 straight up and there was nothing that could really be done.

Even with these tighter rules, it still doesn't guarantee that it won't happen, but it certainly helps. Anyone who really wants to sell on here, can put in the time it takes to be considered trustworthy and earn the right.

Anyone who gets infractions for bypassing these rules can't complain... If you get away with it, then you're lucky, but if you don't, then tough shit. You deserve what you get.

As someone who has been burned, I have no sympathy for those who circumvent the rules and get banned for it... If you don't like it then go and find somewhere else to sell your stuff.

Yeah I totally agree Bungral. I did put myself at risk somewhat with sending off my Xonar before I had the 8800u but I tried to eliminate as much of the risk as possible. Thankfully it seems the guy was good for his word and as honest as myself but man, that's a rare thing these days !

The problem is that when you are the host of a forum and you allow trading you are to a degree responsible for it. As I said to Tom I think he's brave, but then I suppose he also doesn't take any crap.

I tried to trade on AVforums once and jesus, it was like Stalin. I had a bogey green Alienware chassis and the price was firm. Put it up for £100 plus SH with the full FX kit (proven working with full schematics for setting it up). I put at the end of the sale no offers please because I know I can achieve AT LEAST this much on Ebay even after the fees in bold the same as here. Some one came along (dealer obs) and offered me £45. He also offered me £15 for a WD74GD even though I said exactly the same and, mentioned how I had brought it on Ebay for £60 a week before and it was warrantied ; I only wanted thirty bloody quid for it !

I replied "hahahahahahaha !" and was banned. When I dared to ask why via email I was told -

"It is a rule on Avforums that you consider all offers put to you"

I replied (without my lavish use of French)

"How dare you try and bully me into selling my belongings for peanuts"

I was then IP banned and they started threatening me legally. Tosswipers.

So yes, I completely understand Tom's stance. Why would you need to go into PM any way? hiding something?

i have to say that i find avforums a total pleasure to trade on i have had 60 deals on there and will be doing a lot more in the future i do admit the mods can be a bit firm at times cause of the amount of ppl that try dodgy things on there and they dont have the added layer of protection this site does, i have been handed an infraction for sayin S**T on there cause i circumvented the swear filter even tho i didnt actually swear

but the mod wasnt tryin to make you sell for peanuts he was meaning u reply to the offer politely but a trading ban for that was very harsh but then your pm to the mod after u got a trading ban being insulting did nothing for your cause so i can totally understand that ur ip was banned
