Supreme HF Orientation on AMD

Hey guys,

I've been looking around for an answer for this, but I haven't found one yet...

I'm planning to put my rig under water in the coming work term, and have chosen to go with the EK Supreme HF for my cpu water block (mainly for aesthetics).

Now, I know that it comes with a mounting plate for AMD platforms, but my question is will the block have to be mounted so that the ports are in a vertical orientation, or do i have the option of having them in the horizontal orientation as well?

The only picture I have seen is this one: http://tinyurl.com/7qw3uyf

Looking at my motherboard, it appears that the plate will be mounted in a way that the inlet and outlet will be lined up vertically. What I want is for them to be beside each other (ie. the EK logo would appear un-rotated in my system).

If not, I may look into another cpu block

Thanks for the help, guys!

hehe thanks Azurite, i've already looked at this before

but i'm still not understanding it...

the specs indicate that the block is indeed a square (59x59mm), and step 1 in the installation manual shows that the orientation of the block top and bottom is strict.

in my head, however, it makes sense that I should be able to rotate rotate the mounting plate as long as the top and bottom are oriented properly as indicated in step 1... (does this make sense?)

looking at step 2.1, it seems as though my preferred orientation is possible since the outer o-ring would be the same in any orientation, and the inner o-ring does not concern the mounting plate...correct?

I am just curious as to whether or not someone has personally tried the orientation i want and, more importantly, if it would work

Yeah. To me it looks like you can rotate it any way you want as long as bottom and top is correct. Send suport a messaqge just to be sure? or wait til someone can verify it here
