Hello
oc3d.gif
-forummembers!

So at the moment I'm busy saving money for my new project, and I think I'm starting to get quite close, only a few more months (I think 2 or 3) and I'll be able to buy it!

Now I need suggestions for the hardware I'm going to buy, with a budget of 900 euro's.

I am probably able to buy the components without taxes, which will make my pc 19% cheaper.

I will buy the components at http://www.alternate.nl

Here are the components I know I want to buy.

Intel core i5 2500k

Aerocool XPredator case (Evil black or white).

Corsair H100 cooling

Random 1TB 7200RPM harddisk.

Windows 7 Professional 64bit (Since I can get this cheaper than Home Premium).

Total: 377 euro's

So the components I'm not sure about yet are:

-Motherboard

-Memory

-Power Supply

-Optical Drive

-GPU

Those components can cost up to 523 euro's, but the components will be 19% cheaper.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should buy for this particular system?

It's main use will be light video-editing and gaming.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would choose the i5 3570k instead.

I dont know how this will be looking at price thoug

-sabertoorh z77

-ax750

-8gb of vengeance ram

I heard the 3570k isn't quite a good overclocker, and when I overclock the 2500k with the H100 to let's say 4.6GHZ, it will be just as good as a 3570k at 4.3GHZ

EDIT: the 3570k is only 20 euro's more expensive, so would it be worth the price with an H100?

Ok in that case here's my picks:

Mobo: MSI Z77 GD55 or Gigabyte Z77X UD3 (both the same price), or an MSI GD65 if you can spend a little more

RAM: Mushkin, Corsair, Kingston and G.skill all make great RAM. Go for one that looks good and is 2x4GB (8GB) 1600MHz (should be plenty)

PSU: Corsair TX750M or HX750 would be great. Or if you could live with a non-modular unit an FSP Aurum 700W is a great choice, or a non-modular TX750. Be quiet, Cougar and Enermax also make great PSU's

GPU: AMD 7850 or 7870

Thanks for your suggestions!

I will probably buy G.Skill or Corsair memory, depending on which colour I will buy the XPredator.

I think the 7870 is just out of budget range, but I think I will pick up a 7850 or a GTX 570.

The HX750 would be perfect for me but the MoBo (GD55) would be out of my needs. I think I'd much rather buy a Z77 GD45 or any equivilant MoBo.

Will you be overclocking or not? The GD45 can be overclocked on and is a good board, but the GD55 will be more suitable if you're going to be pushing the CPU as far as possible. Both are great boards nonetheless

Well, I'll buy an H100, so I think I will be overclocking, at a later stage.

I think I can add another 100 euro's to the budget, so a GD55 motherboard would be no problem then (:

Sounds good to me! Also, if you could stretch to a 7870 i'd highly recommend it as you can overclock one to be as fast as a stock 7950, but if not the 7850 or a GTX 570 is still a solid choice

With the extra budget, I still have a 44 euro stretch, and there will go 19% of the price, so i think I can buy a 7870 (:

EDIT: With the 7870 (Single fan), and a TX750M, I am still 8 euro's beneath my budget, which I will be spending on UV-CaseLights I think (:

So, this is what I'm probably going to buy:

Intel Core i5 3570k

Corsair H100

Sapphire Radeon HD7870 GHZ edition

Aerocool XPredator White Edition

Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600mhz kit Blue

MSI Z77-GD55

Samsung Spinpoint 1TB 7200RPM HardDrive

Corsair TX750M 80Plus silver PSU

Sony Optiarc 7280s Optical Drive

Windows 7 Professional 64Bit

Any "Objection!"'s?

seems good to me, nice choice. I like that case a lot (I have it in black) perfect for an H100. If you get annoyed by the fans get these: Scythe Gentle Typhoon fans at 1850 RPM. I got them on my H80 and they are a heck of a lot quieter then the standerd corsair fans.

Thanks for your reaction! I hope to be able to buy all the parts in 2 or 3 months, but I think it's rather going to be 3 than 2, since I still live with my parents and I'm only 15 years old :S

If I get annoyed with the fans I will definetly get the Gently Typhoons, since they are even more quiet than the noctua nf-f12's!

I love these fans haha. And if I may assk id you're stretching your budget you could go with an H80 instead of an H100 unless you planb to do major overclocking, I had my 2500k at 5.2Ghz, though now I have a 3930k which is a whole other beast hahaxD

I think I'll stick with the H100, but I think I'll buy the GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H instead of the MSI one, since I love GIGABYTE. Plus it's Ultra Durable 4, which is amazing

So these are the things I am going to buy,

I made the final decissions and here are they:

- i5 3570k

- Corsair H100 Hydro series with Gentle Typhoon AP-14 or AP-15 fans

- GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H

- Sapphire Radeon HD7870 GHZ Edition

- Aerocool XPredator White Edition

- Corsair HX750watt 80Plus Silver PSU

- Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHZ Blue Memory

- Samsung Spinpoint 1TB 7200RPM HardDrive

- Sony Optiarc OpticalDrive

- Windows 7 Professional 64Bit (But I might aswell just torrent windows 7 ultimate).

I look forward to buying and building it, and I will create a topic in the Rig Gallery when it is done!

Thanks for your time everyone!
