Not sure if you remember but a week ago or you commented on my Creative soundcard was trash and that I was conned . well YOU WERE RIGHT.

The following morning it gave up the ghost it just stopped working , It started sounding as if everyone was an alien , so I went through all the usual things re seating , drivers , and it worked for all of 5 mins . Then it just stopped . Nothing I could do would work , so It has been RMA'd back to wence it came .

So I have gone with the norm and gone with an Asus , only an entry Xonar DG 5.1 for now .

Its not very often I admit that I'm wrong I'm a stuborn little sod at times and if my OH sees this I'm in for a slap . So here it is you were right....:nutkick:

:) Hope you enjoy the Xonar mate.

I don't like when this kind of stuff happens, so I don't feel good for being right. But it's an excellent example.

other than that, I have to lol a little bit

I was actually in histerics , That's just my luck . I should get some use out of it tomorrow , I have just set up a cpu loop and am leak testing at the mo , I will updat you tomorrow . The sound quality when it worked was actually very good , then again I have only ever experienced on board so that's probably why . It will interesting to see if the DG is as good as people say . Considering I have fresh Knowledge of the Creative.

what is this nonsense? someone is apologizing on the internet? only on :oc3d:
well, yea creative is quite crap, used on of their headsets for a while.
i also don't really see the point in getting a soundcard if you aren't doing anything special that demands it, the 7.1 onboard sound should do just fine for nearly everyone.

Of course there is a point, Onboard still just doesn't cut the mustard. Any game will benefit from a better discreet option.

If you haven't tried it, you'll never know.

Don't be one of those people that says 'HD is no different' besides never seeing it.. then when they see it, cry to the hills about how good it is...

yes, of course a soundcard is better than onboard, the question is just if it's worth it. especially if you have a siberia v2 that depends on a USB soundcard anyways.

if you have anything usb based then of course it's pointless but that's an entirely different subject

I thought the same mate until I tried one and would never go back, that's why when the recon died I bought a cheaper one asap .

If your headset relies on a USB soundcard , your using one then just an external so you will be benefiting from non onboard .
