Strange issue

Had no idea where to post this, this section seemed to be the most fitting.

I've recently bought myself a PS4 and a second monitor for it, to go besides my ROG swift and main computer.

The Swift, my pc and my PS4, are all plugged into an extension cord/surge protector, the second monitor is plugged into the mains.

The issue I'm having is, once I switch the power at the mains for the extiension and second monitor, likely to play my PS4, without turning the pc itself on, my keyboard and occasionally mouse light up.

I have a Corsair K65 RBG, which without the pc being turned powered on as I said, lights up in the stock red/white colours, and then proceeds to dance like a rainbow, I have to profile set to a static green when the pc is in use. I occassionally have the same issue with the Deathadder, the green light I've set just stays lit, but much less than the keyboard..

If anyone knows a way to sort this out, I would really appreciate. I often have issues with the keyboard loading the rainbow profile and not registering keystrokes when I use the computer, and have to unplug and re-connect it via usb to sort the issue. Thanks very much in advance.

Did you check in the UEFI/BIOS if there is an option to keep the usb ports powered while the pc is of?

There is not an option Lazlo, I tried enabling fast boot and I can't even get into my bios now. Keyboard isnt recieving power until the windows is loaded. Any idea how I can get access to it again?

Edit - Even if I just touch my mouse to move it whilst the computer is turned off, it boots it on, any idea what this could be? Driving me mad.

I can't actually getting into my BIOS now that I've enabled fast boot, keyboard isn't powered on in time to enter.

I'm back into the bios now, hit the MemOk button on the mobo, its the Asus X99 Deluxe. Can't seem to find an option to fix my issue though, had a good look through the bios, and I can't find an option that will sort my issue.

Windows 8.1 also Lazlo.

Concerning the getting into the bios. If you enable Fast Boot the boot process will skip a lot of stuff. Often you are not able to "key" into the bios anymore. Windows 8.1 should have a reboot to bios option. You have to look for it in the restart thingy. For Win 7 there probably should be a programm/tool that gives you the option to boot to bios. I know at least Gigabyte has one. Will Probably work for Win 8.1 too.

I had a look through the manual for your board. The only thing I found you could try is enabling Erp Ready to enabled (under APM Configuration). Be aware that WoL probably won't work when this is enabled.
Next step would be to look in the Asus Utilities for the board to see if you can tweak the usb ports with one of them.

I've had a really thorough look and play around in the bios, I'll check the manual today when I'm back from my shift.

It just seems strange to me, switched on at the mains, without the pc powered on, the keyboard dances a rainbow, after booting on, reseating the usb cable for the keyboard and using the pc for a while, then turning it off, and leaving the mains power off, the keyboard won't remain lit but occasionally the mouse will. Then I only have to move the mouse ever so slightly and the whole system will turn back on.
