oh god I just cant decide.

i have narrowed it down to these...

inno 3d

ok not the best brand ever but its a sexy black colour, has 1.6ns ram which is heatsinked, has a coolermaster HSF and is a moderate overclocker.

leadtek

cheapest of the bunch. it is hit and miss whether you get 1.6ns or 2.0ns ram and is a good overclocker. however looks fugly (green) and has a rubbish HSF.

XFX

great brand, bad overclocker, looks ugly and green, dont know about ram chips (can someone research?) but is reputable company.

gigabyte

there are 2 version of this card - i am talking about the one that ends in D not VP. amazing overclocker (second only to albatron) 2.0ns ram (i think - once again research?) looks quite nice with a blue PCB.

everything points to inno 3d except their un reputable name. please help me guys.

edit* i also found x800 for about the same price, which wd wipe the floor with 6600gt in DX, but i only really play CS:S (open gl) so wd this be a good decsiion?

the x800 will wipe the floor with the gt6600 no matter wat <esp where aa and af are involved -- that much larger memory bus helps>

BTW CS:S is based on the source engine <hence the name> which is DX 9 :)

dave go for the x800 <and send me the linky .. lol >

x800 unless you're planning on going SLI with the 6600GT in the near future.

even then with SLi and 2 6600s wouldnt have the AA and AF (*and texture handling) performance of 1 X800 <due to the 128 bit mem bus :( > and @ this end of the market AA and AF are really what u are looking for

so you all know that it is onlu 128mb version and no suffixes (eg not x800le). but it still wins?

Could you afford an extra £30 and get the 256mb version?

nope afraid not :(

im already stretching to afford this :(

Maybe you should go with the 6600GT, then get either another 6600GT or get a nice 6800GT when they come down in price a bit (7series out soon) :)

ok looks like x800 is out of range unless i wait a while longer...u think it is worth waiting an extra month or so?

I wouldn't have the patience to wait that long. As I have said to others: you can keep waiting for ever. Eventually an x850xt PE will be within your range :)

bah, by the time i can afford shipping on this mobo, i might aswell wait another couple of months get the x800 256mb, and not have to upgrade for a while longer.

also just found out that im gonna need a sound card for tis mobo cos it dont have the onboard thing with it and this is all costing me too much.
