Not played HL2 for a while, so decide to have a play but NO..Steam has decided that I MUST update eveything before I can play it. I dont want the game updated, I wanna play the damn thing. Maybe when I got some time and/ or the inclination I`ll update the game files but why force it on us?

Also tough if I aint connected to the internet

lol I have to agree with mavs sig, as it's done that to me before. Where I just took the system clock on my PC forward 20 years just to confuse it even more

Yeah, its' not as bad as it use to IMO. I think a number of the updates are anti-hacking related, the others will probably be the official map updates etc...

May aswell grit your teeth and download em!

i like it lol it runs when windows starts so updates when needed never have any problems and it means i can go shoot ppl whenever i feel like it

Yeah, but imagine you get a new PC, or decide to format your HD - now you have to download every update since HL2 was released :O

Well...after 3 days of downloading updates I can now play HL2!

Thats shocking- fair enough I aint played since September 9th, but....come on!

Apparently I also need to reinstall CSS. I think I wanna cry.
