Hi Guys

I currently have my installation of Steam and games on my main HDD (SSD) but this is becoming very full, and I have to keep uninstalling games to allow me to install new ones.

Just wondering where you guys install your Steam games, do you have a seperate drive for them (External or internal)??

Is there something you recommend?

I use to 750 gb disks in Raid 0 for storage, games ect

And a NAS server for weekly backup

yeah i have a seperate hdd, just for steam.

Steam works ripped. So you can safely just drop and drag the steam file onto anougher HDD m8.

Ok thanks, I need to buy another HDD then

Just as a side note, you can also back up your Steam games by copying the 'steamapps' folder onto your storage drive for safekeeping and then copying it back to your installation folder when you need it again.

Can I use an external HDD to install Steam on..... and play games off the external HDD, or is this not a good idea.

I have a backup of all my games on my server, but on my main PC I could only install 1 game at a time, and its a pain, i'm thinking if I install them on an external HDD I could probably have all my games installed

Opinions???

Actually you can do that and it won't be a problem since I'm doing that right now. I think an external HDD dock would be a nice addition. You can just store the drive in a safe place if you're not using it.

Although, I would rather have it installed on another internal drive in the future.
