Stealth PC build

Hi,

I thought i'd share my almost finished rig with you guys, all parts are in just need to do the software loading part next!

It's taken me a few months, after considerable research, to come up with this build, which i have dubbed 'Stealth' due to it's discreet, quiet yet powerful nature.

Specs are as follows:

Fractal design XL black case

MSI Big Bang Xpower II motherboard

Intel 3820 i7 sandybridge-e core

Corsair Vengence LP 1600mhz 32gb RAM

MSI GTX580 Twin Frozr II GPU

Corsair Force 3 SSD 120gb hard drive X 2 (in RAID 0)

Hitachi 7200rpm 1tb HDD

LG Blu-ray rewriter optical drive

Corsair AX850 PSU

Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler

Noctua fans throughout (5 in total) plus 1 x Fractal 180mm silent fan

Samsung S27A850D monitor (yet to arrive)

I had to make slight modifications to get the MSI motherboard in, but it fits perfect considering its an XL-ATX board. Plus it looks the part, going with the colour scheme.

Anyways a took a few pictures....

very nice build indeed but stealth??? I can still see it

Liking the look of this; how's cooling now you've removed the divider between the MB and the PSU? The motherboard looks pretty good too with the black slots but have to admit I'm not a great fan of the bullet shaped heat sinks.

Cool rig, no pun intended.

Fractal Define XL is an awesome case and you don't have to worry about any windows for inside looks

Thanks for the comments guys! Always good to see I'm going in the right direction

. Yeh it's stealthy in its exterior looks, it's just a silent big black box, inside is a killer rig though

well hopefully! Yeh a window on the side would ruin everything going for the Fractal XL case.

I have yet to assess the cooling performance, but removing the divider has increased circulation of air.

Yeh I tried to tidy the cables as much as I could, that certainly is an e-SATA back plate. Should come in handy

The motherboard looks awesome, as soon as I saw it I fell in love! I'm not completely sold on the bullet arrangement heatsink but you can't have it all!

Thanks guys! It's been like 10 years since my last build so I was a bit out of my depth. But thanks to all the help and info on this forum I managed complete this rig relatively easily. Only snag I came across was removing the divider. Which was an easy fix. Plus I think this is only fractal design XL case i have come accrods that has been modded to fit an XL-ATX motherboard

Excellent build, this looks like the big brother of my rig I posted the other day (About Time (Define R3 Build)).
