Stay with 980 Ti or upgrade to 1080 ?

I thought there was no software available yet to get benchmarks out of VR!?!

And if I wait the price of my 970's will drop too. Now the sale would fund a 980ti, roughly. But then again if I wait all prices will drop so be about the same. Swap for a 980ti so I have no SLI issues or put probably about £250 towards a 1080? The numbers are not good but I am craving a 1080. I think I might be stuck to the front of the hype train! Someone scrape me off!

If the 980ti is a lot cheaper than the 1080 then that's your best bet for an affordable, noticeable upgrade.

Okay. So on a good day I should get £180 & £200 for my cards. One boxed one not. I can get a 980ti for about £400. So I think its a no brainer.

Question is which ti? Conflicting reviews and comments. But am I right saying the Strix or EVGA Hybrid? What's you think?

@jimma47 The thing is it is not a noticeable upgrade. Sometimes 970 SLI out performs a 980ti. I just want rid of SLI. Getting addicted to Cities Skyline and only having access to one card is a kill joy. And DooM for example dont support it. It will but that dont help! Not that it needs it because 1 970 runs it very well. Only maybe 2 options not maxed. So EVGA! That is good to know! I could buy second hand with warranty! Nice. Am I right in understanding these are the best 980ti? Standard and overclocking ect?

For the record I am in not so Great Britain

Yea it is very addictive. I dream about intersections!! Got it on Steam the other day for £7.81. But the price has gone back up!

Back on topic, just bought a EVGA Hybrid for £370 with 849 days warranty still on it!

i have 2xstrix 980Ti, not sure if dump now or wait for volta...
volta seems to be the logical upgrade... :(

Probably be spring next year, That's a long time to wait although the performance jump from a 980 Ti to a 1080 Ti should be quite large.

I can deal with that wait. Not much of a rise from 980Ti to 1080 and as soon as the Ti variant comes, the 1080 loses value fast.
