Starts but no Display

Well Ive been installing the water cooling lately now I have a stupid problem.

Computer all starts everything spins water goes round all lights up blue and purple, looks nice, but no display. No matter what I do my screen wont display anything.

I use it for my xbox fine so I know that works, so the GPU isn't sending a signal out. I had this problem once before and it kinda solved itself no idea how but im getting impatient now its been almost 2 days Ive spent like 3h trying to get it to work but I got no idea why it wont. Cables are all a mess now but I'm sure its all plugged in.

Any ideas?? Maybe I put the gpu heatsink on too tight I might loosen it a little, I only did it up until the point where the screws got tighter then did another half turn so idk.

Hard drives don't sound like they are working either tbh but I got 2 and they are all plugged in so there is no way they can be broken.

Anyone know anything that might work? I'm going to get to work on my cable management 2moro today I gotta do some schoolish things. Would kinda like my £300 into this wc'ing to work though. I'm getting impatient.

Make sure everything is connected. Especially the RAM and GPU.

Also, you can try resetting the CMOS :).

Ill try the cmos, Im sure the ram is connected.

If that doesnt work I may have to strip it all out.

I had an issue once where i didnt click one of the RAM sticks in properly. Took me 2 days to find it. ha ha ha. I cant think of anything else besides what the guy above me suggested.

My board is an idiot for just kicking in and not showing anything. Only way i knew something was wrong was when I would overclock and the fan of my old X1950XT would just stay on constant max speed. Reset le CMOS and hey presto. ITS ALIVE!!!:worship:

Anyways. you got it working?

Haven't got around to reseting cmos as I cannot find the thingy in all of my cabling :D

Although I did the memory thing, no change, tried changing the connector pins around for the case-mobo, no change. Disconnected and re3conected all sata ports, sata power cables, the 24pin atx cable, both 4pin CPU cables, removed sound card and tried without, etc etc. Cannot get it to work.

Will try cmos later on.

edit: Also found that for w/e reason none of the USB ports are working.. no mouse or keyboard :s No sound either.

Getting a bit irritating again.. cant even tell if its booting up.

im gonna go out on a limb here and say something needs to be un overclocked (if that is such a word). Mine was a sod for that as iv mentioned. Defo reset CMOS. just do a me and rip the battery out for 10 seconds. Works a charm

Well I took the battery out for about a min put it back in, no change. Still no video.

Going to have to tear it apart on the weekend and re-install it all to make sure Ive done it all right, but I already know I have, I was very careful in putting it all in..

unplug and re install the video card making sure it sits all the way into its slot.

(maybe try it in a different slot)

If that doesnt work I would try borrowing some hardware from a mate, maybe try a different graphics card and memory.

Already done that :)

Different GPU still wont display anything in this system, works fine with my brothers. Ive tried each memory stick in each dimm too individually, unless all 4 dimms and both sticks are broken, which is next 2 impossible, it shouldnt be the problem..

will borrow some other memory anyway.

Ummmm...rip it all apart..try EVERY component in someone elses machine. something not right somewhere.

So youve reset the bios?

Tried the card in other machines?

check the cpu. ram. mobo. and even psu with other parts. only thing i can suggest really. im thinking somethings broke. My bros did that and it meant buying a new mobo.

Good luck in fault finding :D

Well basically I got ti working.

How im still not 100% sure how it works but I plugged a hard drive from my dads computer into one of my sata ports did nothing then plugged mine back in and for w/e reason it worked.

I dont understand it but heh its just one of these things that happens.

So will likely update my project log again 2nite with final pics, gota re-wire it all again as its now a complete mess.
