Doesn't matter what size res you use, performance wise there is no difference. For a pump an 18w Laing DDC 1t+ ultra pump will do, or you could get a Laing MCP655 D5. The D5 would be overkill but with the D5 you can adjust the speed and make it quieter.

Yep, thats all you need, and yep you will need the extra fitting for the fill port.
If you want to use fittings on the pump you will need to buy an after market D5 pump top

The D5 does have 1/2" barbs on it though so you can fit 7/16 hose strait onto it but a pump top will give slightly better performance though and allow you to use your own fittings.
Also, you will need a couple of liters of De-ionized water to flush all the parts with before use.
Apart from that you are good to go.

Is the Extra performance from a pump top worthwhile? The Pump Wont really be seen So Im happy to leave The barbs as standard since it wont be seen.
And Thanks For The heads up on Parts Flushing! So is the best way to loop it all up and then Fluch it with De-ionized water and then drain? or do each part individually outside the rig?
Now i think of it, Im not sure where to put the fill port to allow Filling and Draining Easily, If its up top of the case its easy filling but how the hell do i drain it without flipping the pc near upside down? lol

You don't really need a pump top if you aren't bothered about the fittings, some tops add more pressure to the coolant increasing the flow rate but the D5 is overkill for your usage anyway so I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.
For the fill port you could just use a funnel, saves you having to fit a fill port and spending more money.

For flushing this is the way I plan on doing it (see vid below)
If you loop it all up in your system, once you have it all looped up disconnect the tubing that will go from the GPU to the pump. Then get two long pieces of tubing and connect one to the pump and the other from the GPU, the one exiting the GPU is where the water will come out and the tube going into the pump will suck in the water. This to me seems the easiest way to do it anyway.
You should flush the loop a couple of times with some normal warm water before you flush it with the di-water as well.

Just not sure how easy it will be to get Into The rez once its fitted withe all the pipes ect to fill it up (hence the fill port option) Ive got plenty funnels Here so i may aswell buy a fill port too and Just see When the time comes whats best.

You could get an extra fitting, fit it to the top of the res and fit some tubing to it that is long enough to come out of the case then put the funnel in the tubing and fill it up like that. Then all you need to do when you have filled it is undo the fitting and put the blank fitting that comes with the res back on.
as someone who's about to get their first loop setup i'm curious as to the purpose and necessity of said flushing?
I've not seen it mentioned in any of the guides i've seen/read, is it the sort of thing where if you don't do it it will break or if you don't do it you might lose one or 2 degrees in cooling performance?

You should flush your parts before use because bits of dust, tiny bits of metal and other stuff can be left over from when the parts are made, especially radiators. If you don't clean them out and they get in your loop they can damage or clog up your pump and water blocks.

2.How tight should i put the Raystorm? It seems tight now but i can still turn the knobs without forcing it but It starts to flex slightly so i left it where its at?
3. Cleaning the GPU? I took the stock cooler off and there was alot of thermal paste, which is inbetween All the little tiny bits around the main chip Will this cause problems? i dont know how to clean it out, ive tried cotton buds but no luck? If it doesnt cause a problem i can just leave it?
4. Does it matter what way my loop goes? The best option at the moment is to go from the Pump straight into the Rad?

Just run a few liters of warm tap water through the loop to flush all the crap out, then flush again with a few liters of Di-water to get rid of any tap water.
Yeah, don't over tighten the Raystorm, a few people have made that mistake and snapped it. As long as it's held down tight and secure it will be ok.
Thats normal, same thing has happened with my GPU after replacing the tim. Just clean it off best you can, it wont effect anything if there is still some left on though.
Doesn't really make any difference, just make sure your pump comes before the res though.
Rad>CPU>GPU>pump>res>rad is the easiest way
