Star Citizen Thread

Guys, bechmark call. Remember when the hangar module first came out and i said that SC ran at ~80fps on max settings but felt like crap? Well, i just ran it again and suddenly it's at 35-40fps, feels the same though. So i suppose they've changed something because the new fps values seem to fit the gameplay experience far better than the old ones.
i5 4670k stock
GTX 770 4GB stock
16GB 2133MHz CL9 RAM
1080p

Very high: 35-40fps
High: 45-55fps
Medium: 65-85fps
Low = 70-90fps

Will be running the game on med settings i suppose. SC will demand a new GPU and it's not going to be cheap.

mines never been over 35fps EVER!

1440p maxed out

Honestly you'll need a dual gpu card/ more than one to get alot more. kinda nice to know that there is a game out there that makes everything sweat. I'll stick with 1080p for my 780 for the time being. Maybe get a 144hz monitor. Currently my setup (AMD 8320 @4ghz, Asus R9-280x) gets ~30fps maxed at 1080p. i'm hoping the 780 with i7 combo does better tbh.

-edit- I've also recently noticed that core utilisation has improved tenfold. Hopefully this means AMD cpus have another game that really works well with them.

at 1080p i get 55-61 fps on high, and 40-47 fps on very high. thats with an fx8350 @ 4.4ghz and a reference gtx780, i think i will be sticking with 1080p for a little while yet ^_^

Ok from videos this seems very interesting... what do I have to do to get involved in arena comander..? If I buy one of the ships can I use that ship in the dogfights or will it just be in my hangar and then I can use it when the game releases? Also will everyone who bought a ship be given a copy of the game..? Also is there anything cheaper than the RSI Aurora which will let me get involved or is that the minimum..?

Sorry for the Q20 but I'm really quite confused because the website gives you a whole lot of options but not much explanation :/

Well now you have an excuse to buy I bigger one Hahahaha same as me

I've got one, its just for my new computer (i7, gtx 780). I'm still currently waiting on a few parts for it so I'm still using my ol' 8320 and 280x build. Looks like star citizen is going to have to go on my HDD :(

That don't seem like that much of an upgrade man haha

I need the i7's stronger cores and intel is the only way for me to get a high performance itx build :I. I also do alot more cpu based rendering nowadays. I actually don't have any real space for an atx build in my room anymore.
