Star Citizen Thread

$44 million goal Reached!

Welp.
I honestly think star Citizen will keep going until it has all forms of currency in the known world.

Anyway, this what we got. Pretty neat. Full letter here.
Everyone who pledged for Star Citizen before this point will be getting an additional room added to their hangars, once the modular room system launches:

Stellar Cartography – Walk among the distant horizons you’ve charted in Star Citizen’s dedicated “map room” featuring a 3D holographic representation of the known universe. Your map room will start with a basic guide to the United Empire of Earth, and will expand into something that is unique to you as you explore uncharted worlds and discover new secrets. Build the most in-depth universe map possible and show it off to visitors, or lock down your secret jump points and hidden trading posts so that no one else can follow. Interface directly with the Observist guide to find out everything from what ores are in demand on MacArthur to who serves the best pasta on Terra. And with the ability to leave your own notes about your encounters and travels, it’s more than a map: it’s your digital diary!

Also, get what is coming out soon IN TWO DAYS TIME. Yeah, Dogfighting (Arena Commander).

it's not release. it's alpha/beta. it doesn't have to be perfect, just give us something
i rather have nothing than a release in 2020

They still have two game breaking bugs. I.e. they could release it and you'd still have nothing. According to their reddit site only two bugs are remaining, so i suppose we will get dogfighting sometime early next week or even tomorrow.

Guys, bechmark call. Remember when the hangar module first came out and i said that SC ran at ~80fps on max settings but felt like crap? Well, i just ran it again and suddenly it's at 35-40fps, feels the same though. So i suppose they've changed something because the new fps values seem to fit the gameplay experience far better than the old ones.
i5 4670k stock
GTX 770 4GB stock
16GB 2133MHz CL9 RAM
1080p

Very high: 35-40fps
High: 45-55fps
Medium: 65-85fps
Low = 70-90fps

Will be running the game on med settings i suppose. SC will demand a new GPU and it's not going to be cheap.

mines never been over 35fps EVER!

1440p maxed out

Honestly you'll need a dual gpu card/ more than one to get alot more. kinda nice to know that there is a game out there that makes everything sweat. I'll stick with 1080p for my 780 for the time being. Maybe get a 144hz monitor. Currently my setup (AMD 8320 @4ghz, Asus R9-280x) gets ~30fps maxed at 1080p. i'm hoping the 780 with i7 combo does better tbh.

-edit- I've also recently noticed that core utilisation has improved tenfold. Hopefully this means AMD cpus have another game that really works well with them.

at 1080p i get 55-61 fps on high, and 40-47 fps on very high. thats with an fx8350 @ 4.4ghz and a reference gtx780, i think i will be sticking with 1080p for a little while yet ^_^
