I'll admit it, I've bought in to the whole Star Citizen thing. I currently have the Freelancer and the Avenger, and a monthly subscription

This game will influence my graphics card upgrade in the future. Another reason why I'm not all that bothered with 4K monitors (at least until they come down in price with g-sync installed) is Star Citizen with Oculus Rift
At the end of the latest Wingman's Hanger it was mentioned that there will be an update to the Hanger Module and then in a while they will be implementing "Physical Based Rendering", basically the lighting and detail you see in the Vanduul Scythe video above. Implemented in to Hanger or Dogfighting modules, I don't know.
Chris Roberts did say that by the time Star Citizen is released, a GTX780 will be a mid-range card!
