Standart Shinobi, or is it?

Hallo again everyone,

The Idea behind my rig was to take a Shinobi and give it some punch without changing the look, a wolf in sheep´s clothing.

Beside the Fan Controller from the outside it looks completly stock. Fitting a decent Watercooling in this case however was some challange.

Because of the cases limitations I had to use 25mm slim Radiators except for the front intake. I used a HDD cooler to get enogh clearence in the bottom of the Case. Unfortunatly I needed 4 Optical bays and only had 3, so I just cut out the floor of the Optical bay cage and fitted the HDD cooler. The reservoir went next to the Graphicscard and the Soundcard (yes there is one, you just can´t see it

).

The biggest Challange was the 2x120mm Radiator in the Top. The Radiator itself fits just fine but there is no space for fans. This is why I fitted two 12mm thick fans on top of the case. To keep the original look I cut out the strengthening bars and drehmeled a bit. I expected the top part to get wibbely wobbely and was afraid it could break whenever I want to pull it off but not a hinch.

Unfortunatly these litte Fans are loud as Hell so they have to run at the minimal 900rpm. To increase the airflow I added a 140mm Fan at the Bottom with cableties. Seriously the only way to fit something beneath.

At the Back the SSD and all Cables are fixed. Sleeving a non modular power supply is really a lot of work

At the end I am very pleased with the result. Only getting something in or out of the case is a bit tricky. At the first testrun I noticed that a SATA cable sliped out of the top HDD. Took me 15mins to get it back in again

The Watertemp. is 7,3° Delta at Idle and 15,1° Delta under full load (OCCT Power Supply mode for 15min).

GPU: EVGA GTX 570 Classified

HDD´s:

1x Crucial M4 128GB

2x 2TB WD Caviar Green

Ram: 4x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 CL9

Fans:

4x Noiseblocker PL2 120mm

1x Enermax T.B. Silence 140mm

2x Scythe Slip Stream Slim 120mm (12mm thick)

PSU: 530W be quiet! L7

You'd be far better getting voltage resistors than using a fan controller. The controller looks completely out of place, and I know that the NZXT fan controllers can actually make fans louder. Also, they have loads of cables out the back which are a nightmare for cable management.

I had the Sentry 2, took it out last week and replaced with resistor cables that you get free with noctua, silverstone and bequiet fans.

Other than cabling it does look really good

I liked the Controller because of the looks and the space behind it. With some Cableties you can hide tons of Cables behind the Pannel. All Fans are pretty quiet except for the 2 12mm fans. Sometimes the Pannel thought they are standing still, beeped three times and then reved them up to 2000rpm. I have them now attached to a secondary fan controller and am pleased

Thanks. The Idea was to get a laugh everytime I look at it. Still works

Temps are currently about 27°C stock and just under 35°C in games at around 22°C room temperature. Considering there is a GTX 570 in the loop I think it´s not too bad. I havn´t overclocked it yet.

it reminds me of the popping the hood a car with all that black including the rads in there with the brown PCB of mobo. A huge congrats to you for fitting all that cooling hardware in there without the doors exploding and tidy cabling. Its just looks so clean outside, stealthy indeed.

I really like the look of some fan controllers. I love the look of the Sentry LX because it reminds me of something from a Sci-Fi movie, some type of control panel. Not a huge fan of touch controls though, my dad had one a few years ago (another fan controller with touch controls) and it was constantly beeping and it was a total annoyance.

I just ordered a Lamptron FC6 for my 650D build. I'm hoping the 4 analogue knobs with be simple and straightforward and not give any trouble.

the cables around the back look amazing by the way. I really love the 2 rows of really clean cables clipped vertically along the back like that. It's so clean.
